The doomsday rant below is the “Morning Report” today on Ace of Spades Headquarters, a lively Far Right blog with five contributors in addition to the mysterious Ace himself (or herself). This entry is written by J.J. Sefton, but the style on this site is very consistent, and I find the various contributors interchangeable in their venom. There is never any pretense of objectivity or balance here, though I often find the rhetoric entertaining. It would be fun to write a blog like this, but unethical. I generally avoid it so as not to be tempted by the Dark Side.
Here is the hard Right’s prediction of looming doom “unless”…
Good morning kids. As I and many of you for sure have pondered lo these many months going on perhaps years now if we are in a state of civil war, but for sure we are in a phase of accelerating societal breakdown. On the surface, life goes on much as it always has, kids go to school we go to work or otherwise go about our routines mostly as per usual. Beyond the violence and mayhem we are witnessing in Minneapolis and elsewhere, the most alarming aspect is the utter breakdown and corruption of our judicial system that has now been infiltrated and weaponized against us.
First, Judge Gregory Carro in New York State argued that Luigi Mangione, the leftist terrorist, wasn’t a terrorist because he said he wasn’t.. . . More of the same now at the federal level where Judge Margaret Garnett, a recent Biden appointee, decided that Luigi Mangione stalking Brian Thompson in order to kill him wasn’t a “crime of violence”. . . The only thing tortured and strange here is that Democrats are trying not to pretend that they’re bailing out a leftist terrorist. Had Luigi Mangione worn a red cap and hunted down and killed a liberal judge, all of a sudden all of these rulings would be the opposite of what they are, and the ‘tortured and strange’ parts of them would be the sound of the law creaking to be bent backward the other way.
You better believe that the ICE agents who took down Good and Pretti, should some Soros prosecutor get the ball rolling are going to get the Derek Chauvin treatment if not a cell on death row. Donald Trump and Kristi Noem as well. The DemoKKKrats are already making noises about impeachement should they win back Congress this coming November and beyond that, they are itching to see those two and others dangling from a hangman’s noose.
They’ve learned their lesson. Next time they will completely wipe out all opposition to them and seize absolute power. And anyone who objects will ironically and disgustingly be labeled as a terrorist and insurrectionist, and be subject to the harshest of penalties. Like J-6 the process will only be the beginning of the punishment.
It is clear that the Democrat Left has the ability and the willingness to mobilize an armed force of internal terrorists and insurrectionists who will do their bidding knowing they face no repercussions. At least no repercussions in the legal sense.
Can you imagine if average law abiding and armed citizens had a similar system to communicate and rapidly mobilize to be on scene to counter the criminal terrorist insurrectionists and stand shoulder to shoulder with law enforcement, or to oppose any Don Lemon squad of goons bent on invading a church service?
We are heading down that road. But considering our innate sense of morality (that has been completely burned out of the Left since childhood over the past 60 years or more) and concomitant abhorrence of violence, Perhaps it might never come to armed response.
We as a nation are coming to a crossroads. The Left uses our Constitution as both a shield and a cudgel. And bearing all of the aforementioned in mind, there’s this frightening development:
Democrats spent years pushing for gun restrictions. Now they’re rushing to buy firearms and invoking Second Amendment rights after federal agents killed a licensed gun owner in Minneapolis. The shift has drawn accusations of hypocrisy from conservative critics. Writing in “The Hill,” columnist Robby Soave noted that progressives “favor all sorts of restrictions on gun ownership” yet now champion constitutional gun rights following Alex Pretti’s death. The ACLU even backpedaled on whether it supports concealed carry rights for protesters, Soave wrote. But, they will acquire and use firearms in an offensive manner and when the smoke clears claim self defense as a judge like the one who let Mangione off the hook and the one who railroaded Derek Chauvin will agree. When you have mayors and governors now openly going after and attempting to impede ICE and other federal agents from doing their duty, no doubt their armed Antifa goons and gang-bangers as in Long Beach CA will be deputized and given the full protection of a bastardized legal system. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) we cannot deny anyone their second amendment right to bear arms based on their political beliefs. But considering a frighteningly large number of individuals not only want to destroy America as founded but as we have seen not just in Minneapolis but since the 1960s are willing and able to use violence to achieve their aims. Worse the Democrat Party in its eternal quest to seize absolute power is giving them political and legal cover to act as their street goons/enforcers.
If by some chance their election rigging machine fails to deliver them control of Congress, what we’re seeing in Minneapolis is just a foretaste of what is to come that will be orders of magnitude worse. The President will be forced to respond and in so doing potentially play into their hands despite being completely in the right to quash an armed violent leftist/Democrat insurrection.
“. . .What happens if the Republicans lose control of Congress in the mid-terms this November? We don’t have to wonder, because the Democrats have told us. Expect a 180-degree reversal of everything President Trump has done. We can expect as abrupt a change, on a national scale, as the radical onslaught incoming Governor Abigail Spanberger is imposing on the commonwealth of Virginia. Elections truly have consequences.
And if the Democrats re-gain the White House in 2028, things will be even worse. President Trump’s historic victory in 2024, and the MAGA agenda in general, will be foiled by the Democrats’ radical policies . . The Constitution, as we know if, would be shredded.”
And for me it would essentially be the end of even the veneer of the illusion of regular order/business as usual that we barely are able to delude ourselves into believing. They will go all out to seize absolute power, crush any and all opposition and that will be that. A run of 250 years as they traipse around in the skin suit for another century or so demanding respect.
Unless something radical changes the course of history back towards sanity. As we had hoped the election, three times!, of Donald Trump would do.
Have a great day.
Now you have both sides. (Part I is here.) Your assignment: Compare and contrast.

He’s wrong?
Can you argue that Ace of Spades is wrong after two impeachments of Donald Trump, the vindictive prosecutions of the J6 protesters, and Joe Biden’s “Reichstag” speech?
I will quote Dave Cieslewicz from Part I, and he may be more correct from a purely electoral perspective than the MAGA crowd is willing to admit. TDS is successful in rallying the base.
“I’ll add here my now standard language that nobody is voting for any kind of Democratic agenda, Rather Democrats are showing up in droves, motivated by all of Trump’s outrageousness, Republicans are lethargic and independents vote against whoever is in power. I’ll keep writing about that as the year goes on, but consider that base covered for now.”
The purpose of all political invective is to rally the base. Recent local elections indicate that the Democrats are successfully rallying the base with TDS infected rants. The GOP base is unmotivated as Republican controlled Congresses at both federal and local level are not delivering on the MAGA promises.
The following article analyses a recent loss of a GOP seat to a Democrat:
https://townhall.com/columnists/jeffcrouere/2026/02/02/democrat-wins-shThow-gop-voters-arent-motivated-n2670490
And now Trump is unable to successfully enforce his key immigration policy in Minneapolis and fails the nullification crisis, GOP voters are going to think WTF, why are we even voting as the politicians will simply ignore the desires of their base.
And this is precisely why Ace of Space needs to go apocalyptic to rally the MAGA base. Given the record of the Biden administration, and the radicalism of the new administrations in NYC and the state of Virginia after recent wins I would say that Ace of Spades has a point.
Just a typo alert: Since “The Left” was posted first and was Part I, shouldn’t “The Right” be Part II?
Of course. Why I can’t remember to proof the headlines, I really don’t know. Fixed. Thanks.
On the left, I notice the common deceptive language I am used to from that side.
(1) Trump ‘took over’ the FBI, the DOJ, etc
The left claims that the DOJ and FBI should be ‘imparital’ and that they don’t obey the orders of the executive branch. Instead, they are supposed to follow ‘the Constitution’, which says that they obey the executive. By ‘the Constitution’, the left means the leftists elites. If an FBI head were to begin investigating a Democratic President, you know they would claim that it was unConstituitonal, an ‘insurrection’, and illegal.
(2) Trump created a paramilitary organization in ICE.
No, I believe the militarization of these agencies happened under Clinton.
(3) There was no justification for the investigation into the Fulton County ballots.
The Fulton County ballots have been investigated thoroughly. It was found that a lot were photocopied. A bunch disappeared from a locked building in the 15 minutes the police weren’t watching it. Now we know that 300,000 ballots were invalid, but counted anyway.
On the right, I see some cherry-picked examples being used to extrapolate to a disastrous end. This article is using the blatant double-standard of left wing governments and judiciary in dealing with the right and left and the inflammatory rhetoric of high profile Democrats to stir up emotion. When the mayor of Minneapolis says his police force is ‘fighting ICE’, when Democrats on TV talk about putting all of MAGA in prison, when Hawaii passes a law against political satire, when judges refuse to issue arrest warrants for people screaming at parishoners in a church (because that isn’t violent), but will issue warrants for someone quietly praying on a sidewalk (because that is), they invite an article such as this. Look at the J-6 ‘riot’ compared to what is going on in Minneapolis or Portland or Seattle. If that isn’t a double standard, I don’t know what is. Look at the treatment Kyle Rittenhouse got compare to Pretti.
Summary:
The left claims that any policy that isn’t left wing is irregular to unconstitutional and that Trump is not entitled to use the power of the executive office to whip the left up into a lather. The right is using very visible examples of the double standards of the law and the very words of prominent Democrats to whip the right up into a lather.
So we are comparing a “moderate” writer to a “Far Right Wing” guy?
I think maybe it would’ve been better to find a “Far Left Wing” person to compare and contrast, but then, maybe that would’ve been too prejudicial to the Left.
Anyway, to me, the content is very similar. Both writers are less interested in presenting facts than demagoguery, and that’s to be expected. A perusal of X will show an identical fact pattern — every slightly troubling bit of news becomes a harbinger of totalitarianism and end-of-the-Republic mischief, or proof positive that [fill in person here] is a [child molester, rapist, fascist, bigot, dictator, hyperbole ad infinitum].
But today, that’s what gets through people’s ludicrously short attention span. Engagement farming is a real phenomenon, and he who makes the most effective appeal to fear almost always wins the prize, which these days is eyeballs on whatever site they spew their “OMG IT’S THE END” drivel from.
Constant appeals to emotion, mainly fear, have become such standard fare that one wonders why people even bother to read it. I guess we collectively crave outrage, and sufficiently outraged people will commit dollars to the cause.
In the end, it is all about prying loose dollars from the politically-engaged so these so-called “influencers” can pay their rent. Outrage pays, and outrageous commentary draws in the perpetually afflicted.
Here’s something lucid: Farrah on X: “A Letter to the Left To those who still believe, from someone who once did too. I need to tell you something, and I need you to hear me out before you decide what I am. I was one of you. Not in some distant, theoretical way. I was deeply one of you. I marched. I shared the https://t.co/K4ysrPRLtS” / X
This woman experienced something unknown to lefties: self-doubt. This is a very common sense essay. She even speaks of the need for common sense in the left. Anyway, it seems to complement the two pieces above.
I didn’t read past: “The only thing tortured and strange here is that Democrats are trying not to pretend that they’re bailing out a leftist terrorist.”
I get distracted by details, like word order.
part 1 uses paranoia as its foundation, part 2 uses fear.
by defintion, the first, parnoia, is an unrealsitic fear. the second is based upon a reality that all us can see, unfolding.
We are in a place in between where as the thrid writer points out “common snense” does not prevail.
Common sense tells us to let law enforcement due their job, uninhibitedly. Doing so would minimise the scenes of being people “torn away”. Theose whoahve broken the law would be quietly removed, and processed.
Parania evokes a fight ressponse agiant the perceived fear. This response allows one to simply lash out in rage. Rage must be restrained. Unfortunateley restraint leads to more paranoia.
Reality tells us that reform of the law surrouding immigration is necessary. However, at no time has anyone one on either side of the iasle seriosuly applied common sense to amend the legality.
The name calling, finger pointing, rage, resistance, are all inidcators of a deep immaturity. Similar to the so called “terrible twos” of child development. The “terrible two behaviors” are best ignored. All partents know that reward of the behavior only excacerbates it. Until reality sets in for “the two year old” the rage continues until it is self spent. Unfortuantley the aftermath of the two year old rage are broken toys, and disheveled rooms.
The raging one mus t live with those consequences. Or the common sense one cal lead them thouguh way to repair the brokenness that stems form bad beahvior.
