Ethics Alarms 
Sky News Australia is conservative leaning. The TDS sufferers wouldn’t be caught dead visiting that site, much less listening to opinions expressed there. They do not trust any conservative source to be accurate, unbiased or free of control by Trump.
It is the message, not the messenger. The facts about Iran and its ongoing attacks on America and Americans are irrefutable. I force myself to watch multiple MSNBC and CNN propagandists in the hope that they may convey some wisdom I would miss if I narrowed my range of sources. My only regular online paper is the New York Times, after all. Iran is an easy call. Our progressive knee-jerk friends won’t admit it it, because they would have to accept that Obama was the failure that he was.
I agree with you about the message.
My point is that the Trump Deranged don’t because, to them, the messenger is the message. My TDS sister will not believe anything shown to her on a government website. Forget about sending her anything from Fox, Newsmax or AmericaOne, she believes anything on our own government’s website has been tampered with by Trump and his cronies.
You force yourself to watch other news sources because you want your range of sources to be broad. They don’t. Whether it’s because they don’t want to throw Obama under the bus or some other reason, a well-reasoned argument on a conservative news site is just biased disinformation to them.
It would be very nice if they were capable of listening to Melanie Phillips with an open mind, but they aren’t because their minds are rammed solidly shut.

Melanie Phillips is well known as a guest at podcast as Triggernometry, The Daily Heretic, spiked, The John Anderson Show. These podcasts also trend conservative by the way, and are more popular in the UK than the USA; I highly recommend these podcasts because of the many long form and deep interviews.
I have to admit that I have stopped consuming the left wing media a long time ago. Various forms of derangement have supplanted decent analysis and debate. The MSM is leading with hard-left talking points. Watching CNN has become a total waste of time, and it leaves you misinformed.
The problem is that the left has stopped listening to other voices a long time ago, denouncing then as racist, fascist, Islamophobic, and whatsoever. Depth has been replaced by labels. Objective reporting has been replaced by advocacy journalism. As a result a lot of the media is not worth following anymore. As a result the right is not going to listen to the left either, and they have there own ecosystem of channels as source of news and commentary. The result is that the middle disappears, and that the left and right are drifting further and further apart as during the Weimar Republic.
About the topic of the left working together with radical Muslims (e.g. Mamdani) Melanie Phillips rightly points out that exactly the same happened in Iran in the 1970s with the opposition against the Shah. We know how that worked out, and USA and Israel are now undoing the damage.
As a result a lot of the media is not worth following anymore. As a result the right is not going to listen to the left either, and they have there own ecosystem of channels as source of news and commentary. Except that there is a developing cooperation, or the sharing of perspectives, and productive conversation, between different “camps” which would not seem to have much in common but find themselves of a similar opinion on ‘certain issues’.
The people who think in those structures terms of America First (this movement has roots back in the 1920s as I understand it) are by their position in society inclined to develop and desire government projects that serve their interests and well-being. They are ‘people oriented’ and concerned for the well-being of their families and their general society. They are naturally oriented toward the advocacy of social projects, infrastructure projects, and indeed social-oriented programs.
The ‘middle’ actually appears, is appearing. And at least some part of where I orient myself is in such a ‘middle’.

The willful ignorance of the threat that Islam poses to Western Civilization will not be without consequences. As stated in the piece, many clear-thinking people in the West believe or at least fear that the UK is past the tipping point and headed for oblivion, and that other European countries aren’t far behind.
This whole “imminent threat” thing is ridiculous. Lefties are all spouting “Iran did not pose an imminent threat!” Baloney. Iran has posed an imminent and existential threat to every nation from the inception of the Islamic Republic of Iran forty-seven years ago. What is it about “Death to America” that needs clarification? Soviet Russia told us they would bury us. We fought a cold war against them and won. In my mind, the reason Iran had to be dealt with now is because it’s been proven they have no interest in giving up their quest for nuclear weapons and ICBMs. Wasn’t it Clausewitz or someone who said war is simply an extension of diplomacy? The real, imminent threat was that if Trump didn’t take on the Mullahs, the next president would cave to them the way everyone prior has. Again, you can’t negotiate with a death cult of suicidal lunatics. I’ll give the lefties one thing, Trump’s departure is imminent. That’s a threat. The AUC will make sure the Dems retake the house, and maybe even the senate and the impeachment fest will begin.
The purpose of the present attack on Iran is manifold. To help Israel in its long-range plan to destabilize and control the region, this project being initiated when Israel was founded. Israel as a ‘colonial project’ (expansion of Western military power into the region) was certainly understood by the residents of that region then. Since that time, and since Israel was armed by the US, and since Israel opted to take that role, the ‘project’ has now come out into the open. And now the ‘information war’ is really gathering force. Because this is Fourth and Fifth generation warfare it is in essence a war over perception.
President Trump became a TRAITOR to nearly every promise he made during the campaign. This is simply a fact. I might completely agree with what he and those who back him (who design the policy) but the man is a total con-artist! Really, this is kind of incredible. It is incredible that those on this blog do not (seem to) see this.
And yet the object of media systems is to try to keep former MAGA and also America First in line enough so that this particular, and rather consequential war, can be carried through successfully. It is (quite obviously) all part of a far larger plan that must be understood (to the degree that the ‘wee people’ can do this). This is not working, and as a result ‘they’ almost seem to drive the (genuine) America First peoples over to the side of the more-or-less traditional Left (Like Cenk appearing on Tucker’s show — this is happing in many different places). They are setting up oppositions, and they are setting up the vilifications that are the first steps in elimination of influence.
As I have been proposing, these are vast machinations of giant global enterprises and the concerns of those enterprises and machinations (Machiavellian at the core) do not really care for the needs or goals of people. However, since these efforts are empirical adventures designed to (I gather?) weaken China and (somehow or other) restore America to the position of ‘greatness’ it had at a former time, in this specific sense ‘the people’ might be better off giving their assent so that, maybe, at some future point their lived lives are (somehow) better.
America as a nation has been in decline. The people of America are not well on many levels. There is a psychological malaise that (as I recently pointed out) corresponds to what CG Jung wrote about in the essay ‘Wotan’. But it is not Wotan that is the presiding Archetype, rather it is that madman Yahwey who is a warlord on another level. My point? I suggest we just wait and see how all of this turns out. (Because I have a sense it is not going to turn out as it is portrayed). And ‘media systems’ lie to them everyone all the time, and one must understand that the entire system is necessarily involved in lies. True though that the Left oriented media was ‘captured’ in different ways. And the Fox News type media is less deranged at least in certain ways (but completely committed to present war aims). A ‘lie’ means a misrepresentation, a ‘narrative’ that is put together to get people to agree. So the skill needed today is one of ‘media studies’. It does not mean an absolute falsehood though. The best lies (of this sort) are combinations of truth an untruth.
The object of the collusion now between governing agencies, corporate enterprises, information distribution systems (media, propaganda), the military enterprise, and those ‘narratives’ better understood as ‘propaganda’, are all being focused now into the present range of machinations. And YOU are the object. (All that I say is to be aware and hold back from giving total consent, as if it is a ‘spiritual duty’.)
The Israel project as such has become — has made itself in fact — the cause of suspicion (at best) and open antisemitism (at worst), but the way the issue is spun is contaminated because they set up and strict binary choice. This corresponds to the Christian Zionist view that you either ‘support Israel’ and thereby ‘support God Himself’ (!) or you do not and you align yourself with Satan. This is how the mind-framing works! It is that crude, that basic, that emotional, that psychological. It is also incredibly manipulative. And behind it is pure violent force. The facts are: Oppose Israel’s machinations and you will be silenced or killed. (And this is why there are some who propose that Charlie Kirk was assassinated because he was tending to go the route of people like Tucker Carlson and in fact quite a large group who make coherent arguments about why war at this time, under these pretenses, is deceptive. See, they notice that Israel assassinates more or less whoever they want to. Why then should their efforts stop at the frontiers of the US? I do not propose that I believe this, but it is as clear as day that the *official narrative* of Kirk’s assassination does not hold up).
The entire problem BEGINS with Israel’s resounding and the actions that were taken then.
But please do not read me wrong: Once you have seen ‘what is really going on’, and once you see and realize your own complicity (as citizens, as beneficiaries) and once you have accepted that it is indeed the first movement in global conflict where ‘our side’ must win, then at least you can make commitments based in an honest and truthful assessment of the real facts that matter. But at the very least you must be aware of what you are choosing, and you must accept the consequences of your choices. But why trick yourself that this is about goodness and righteousness? It is about POWER.
