“The unfounded theories largely capitalize on short video snippets of those in the room and initial breaking news reports filed moments after a gunman tried to breach a ballroom at the Washington Hilton with Trump and hundreds of other government officials and members of the press inside.”

“By the time Trump had traveled back to the White House to deliver remarks on the incident and posted a photo of the suspected attacker, thousands of social media posts had been circulating online suggesting the episode was “staged” or somehow faked.”

You can’t get much dumber than that. First, Trump doesn’t want to distract from the Iran War: it is now part of the Trump Deranged delusion that somehow the U.S. is losing. Second, the Epstein files pose no peril to President Trump at all: this is another Axis fantasy. Third, how crazy would Trump have to be to stage a fake assassination attempt, complete with a live fake assassin, so he could build a better White House ballroom? These lunatics might as well claim that the assassination attempt was faked to take attention away from Savannah Guthrie’s mother.
