Yes, she’s the 23-year-old daughter of Minnesota’s lawless, incompetent, anti-First Amendment governor, whom the Democratic Party tried to inflict on the nation as a Vice-President.
Here’s what Hope, who is, ironically, hopeless, posted yesterday:
“Gun control doesn’t just save Democrats’ lives, it also saves Republican lives. You’d think we’d be at a point now where we could call for some common-sense legislation, but, I don’t know. I don’t know.
“Also here to say that political violence is never okay. Duh. That’s the difference between us and them. It’s never okay. But there’s something we can do about it…common-sense gun legislation. … We should do something about that for everybody’s sake. For everybody’s sake. Yeah, happy Tuesday. Feeling a little anxious today, but we’re gonna get through it.”
“Common sense gun control” is, as EA has noted many times, a stand-in for “Do something!” as well as “I got nuthin.” It is amazing that anyone who resorts to such non-substantive cant is ever taken seriously. Idiots like Hope can’t articulate any measures short of banning all guns and confiscating them from lawful purchasers that would stop nuts like the guy who tried to shoot up the White House Correspondents Dinner…and even that wouldn’t stop law breakers—you know, criminals— from breaking the law to get guns.
Yet how many friends and associates do we all have who might read Hope’s nonsense and mutter, “How true, how true…”?

I love the selective outrage. The party that tried to kill Trump 3 times, Vance at least once, shot Steve Scalise and at other Republicans, shot numerous people and did $billions in damage in Minnesota, who killed several Democratic lawmakers in Minnesota after they voted against free healthcare for illegal immigrants, shot up numerous churches, schools, etc likes to hold itself out as the victim of political violence.
I also like how ‘mass shootings’ are defined. There was an incident in my state this weekend where at least 23 people were shot. You probably haven’t heard anything about it because black lives only matter when a career criminal dies near police. Twenty three people shot in one incident and it isn’t news, but if a white man who thinks he is a woman shoots up a church, the headline will read “Woman with second cousin who voted for Trump kills Easter worshipers. Trump refuses to ban guns despite deaths.”
Hope could have just led with “I don’t know”, stopped there (leaving us with the same impression), and saved herself a bunch of useless extra words.
When I saw Walz’s face, I thought it was going to be a post about the new Minnesota state flag. Here’s an article that shows the new Minnesota state flag next to the Somali flag: The New Minnesota Flag Vs. the Somalia Flag: Are the Two Similar?
From the article: “Minnesota did change its flag to be more sensitive to its residents, but the primary reason was that the old design was seen as insensitive in its depiction of Native American communities. The old flag depicted a white man tilling land while a Native American rides a horse, and some in the Native community said that the flag depicted their erasure from the land, per CBS News.” Of course.
The article concludes with a “There’s nothing to see here:” “While it is true that there is a prominent Somali community in Minnesota, and it’s also true that the two flags bear a surface-level resemblance, there’s no reason to think one design has anything to do with another. And, even if they did resemble each other intentionally, that doesn’t mean Somali people are orchestrating some kind of conspiracy.” But it sure looks that way, don’t it?
Hilarious.
P.S. I think the answer to the question posited in the article’s headline is, “Hell yes, they do!”
