I Would Say Graham Platner Poses An Integrity Test For Democrats, Except They Have Already Flunked

“In this piece, there’s a lot about my struggling, not being a good boyfriend, certainly self-medicating with alcohol, and I’ve been very upfront since the beginning of this campaign that that was a pretty dark period of my life after I came back from my combat service,” Platner told Democratic Party propaganda mouthpiece MS NOW.  “There are things in this that I absolutely will take responsibility for, and have been speaking about openly for months now, but those serious allegations are just not true,” he added.

“He’s always saying ‘it was a bad period of my life.’ Well, you know, that doesn’t play as well about things that have happened in the last three or four years,” said Jim Melcher, a professor of political science at the University of Maine at Farmington. Indeed, we have learned that Platner routinely sent women “dick pics” in that period, like the shunned and exiled Anthony Weiner back in those halcyon years when Democrats had standards,

A report from the Maine Monitor and the Bangor Daily News this week indicated that Platner has lied about his schooling. He said in October that he attended private schools because his public school lost accreditation around 1999, but the report found the school has been accredited since 1987. Platner “misspoke,” responded his campaign.

Right.

Democratic strategist Christy Setzer says, “I’ve worked in Maine and Mainers sure don’t like it when outsiders tell them how to feel about one of their own.”  But nobody should have to tell Mainers that a flaming, lying, creep is not Senate material. How messed up are Democratic voters, anyway? Cheyenne Hunt, the former Gen Z for Change executive director withdrew her endorsement of Platner this week. “I gave Platner a glowing endorsement when he launched his campaign for Senate because I believed in his vision for an economy that actually serves working Americans. But the information that has since come to light is inexcusable,” Hunt said.

Well, that’s one Democrat with principles. When do we hear Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, the Squad and other Democrats who have endorsed this guy tell us what conduct they consider “inexcusable”?

It’s not difficult to get a sense of the kind of man Platner is, and thus the kind of man Democrats will tie themselves to in order to gain power. Try these links:

A conservative wag on “X” nicely summarized “what’s going on here.” He wrote in part, “Democrats…don’t “believe all women” or believe in anything, actually, other than power. If that means backing the Nazi tattoo guy who abuses women they will.”

“Integrity? Nah, we don’ need no stinkin’ integrity!”
