3. MS Now host Jonathan Capehart joined PBS News Hour to revel, as usual, in his rationalizations. (This guy is a career Ethics Dunce, and no, I’m not poisoning the well because he poisoned it himself, years ago.) Asked about whether Graham Platner should be the Democrats’ candidate for the Senate in Maine, Capehart immediately defaulted to “It’s not the worst thing,” Rationalization #22, the worst thing being, naturally, since he’s a Trump Deranged, woke hack, President Trump. “I look at Platner through the prism of where we are in terms of the Trump administration and the Trump world, given who Trump is, given the allegations against the president, given the way that lots and lots of people in the Republican Party just turned a blind eye and decided, we still want to vote for this guy,” Capehart said.
You know you have crossed a line regarding progressive hackery when even David Brooks can’t stomach it. Brooks replied, “The guy is a moral degenerate. The abuse of women, the sexting, the Nazi tattoo, I don’t even need to say anything beyond his Reddit posts, which are not in the past, by the way. He did that for a long time, abusing rape — people who might have been raped, diminishing rape in the military, insulting fellow military officers, calling himself a communist. It’s just — it’s a pathetic empty guy who postures in a way that’s kind of repulsive. There are 330 million Americans, and there are 100 senators. We can’t have a decent human being in those 100? Like, we have got to settle for this?”
Well yes, David, the political party you sold your integrity and soul to when you joined the New York Times will settle for Platner if it means it can take over the government and rig the political system.
Capehart, a weenie as well as a biased partisan tool, then claimed that he agreed with Brooks, which contradicted what he had just said, adding, “David’s moral indignation over Platner is something that I share. But I’m also looking at the fact that, well, we do have Donald Trump in the White House and that, yeah, moral degeneracy is coming right from the top.”
Got that? Platner is Trump’s fault.
The news media and the Trump Deranged always engage in these empty generalizations. Spell them out, Jonathan: what “moral degeneracy” are you talking about? How does the moral degeneracy” you are are claiming regarding the President stack up against Bill Clinton getting blow-jobs in the Oval Office from a submissive intern and Joe Biden being accused of rape by a Senate staffer and showering with his teenage daughter? How do you square Al Franken being driven out of the Senate by some sexist goofing around while he was a comedian and you excusing a married guy who sends dick pics to women? “I think standards have changed a little bit,” Capehart weenied. No, you apologist for creeps, your party changes the standards according to what fits its agenda.
4. Back to ABC: it’s unfair, perhaps, to cite the idiots on The View when discussing news media bias, but I didn’t choose to package this confederacy of dunces as a “news program.” Co-hostess Sonny Hostin, clearly a DEI law school grad because it really isn’t easy for morons to get a JD, went on an anti-American rant, saying…
“I am embarrassed at our government. I’m embarrassed at our lack of healthcare. I’m embarrassed on the assault on the press. I’m embarrassed of our Congress. I’m embarrassed by the criminal felon president that is in the Oval Office that has a UFC cage on the White House lawn. I’m embarrassed about all those things. And I’m also embarrassed at how America is now seen across the globe. I don’t think that many Americans understand that we are part of a wonderful global community. And when you look at our allies, our allies are now giving us a one-star rating as a country. While I am conflicted about this country because I feel that it is at this point a failed experiment, quite frankly. I am also discouraged by how this country is viewed by the rest of the world. I think at this point it is failing. It is a failed experiment.”
This tripe is on ABC five days a week. Hostin condemns the country because we don’t have nationalized health care which the country can’t afford and which involves terrible trade-offs. The “assault on the press” is both well-deserved and necessary, because we no longer have trustworthy journalism. “Criminal felon President” is more Trump Deranged cant. The White House has hosted Easter Egg rolls since 1877, but a sports spectacle that Sonny doesn’t follow is “embarrassing”? I don’t recall: what was Sonny’s reaction when the Bidens had bare-breasted trans women on the White House lawn? And the United States “experiment” is one of the most astounding, successful, beneficent experiments in civilization, government, culture and society in world history.
The Left thinks it is a failure because it didn’t elect Kamala Harris. Think about that for a nonce.
Hostin’s outburst was so obnoxious that even Whoopi Goldberg couldn’t take it, and she’s one of the worst woke knee-jerks on “The View.” The Whoop responded in part,
“I am really proud to be an American, because I’ve lived in other places, as have we all. And to be able to do what we do and not get arrested tells you this is still America. I love all the places I’ve lived but this is the only country that I know that allows us to do what we do and for that, I’m forever grateful. For 250 years, if we’ve gotten to here, forget the last two years. Figure how far we got. Figure all the things, all the stuff women were able to do, all the things that we were able to take care of ourselves, finding the ways to make our lives better. That’s why glass ceilings were broken. That’s why people fought and got run over and hit by water cannons. Was for the right to be an American, to be considered an American. Which is why I get so angry when I listen to people talk about who we’re not. We are all Americans. We don’t have to believe everything each other believes, but we are all Americans.”
Wait: who ARE you?
