Ken White, once a brilliant, analytical libertarian blogger and an Ethics Alarms Blogger of the Year, has been so corroded by Trump Derangement that he managed to get himself banned from Bluesky for the unhinged post above.
The fact that Ken would stoop to being on Bluesky at all, since it is the most censorious of social media platforms, was already shocking, but that junk above is worthy of people like Bette Midler and Sunny Hostin, whose combined IQs wouldn’t equal what Ken White’s used to be.
How could this happen? I am put in mind of the Eugene Ionesco play “Rhinoceros,” in which people in a small French town start inexplicably turning into the dumb, snorting, horned beasts. It happened to Ken and Curmie…who’s next?

Simple. It isn’t about Trump. It never has been. Their opposition is against anyone who would dare oppose them. Anyone would live by a different set of rules than what they decide, much less have the gall to try to tell them what to do. They are eternal teenagers, certain they know everything, governed by emotion, as of yet completely unconnected from reality. Trump is just the latest lightning rod. HW Bush was the one before that. The next one they’ll treat as badly, if not worse. There’s no corrective action against it, so itll continue.

I don’t think so. First, the X Derangement trope started with Clinton, but neither the Left’s obsession with Bush or the Right’s obsession with Clinton was of the same order of magnitude. It’s like comparing raisins to watermellons.
It’s pure cognitive dissonance. Musk led DOGE, which was an initial Trump project that the Left hated, and they know if he hadn’t bought Twitter, Trump wouldn’t be President. On Facebook, a lot of the Trump Deranged rail about both interchangeably.
There is a category of people that are viscerally emotionally provoked by Trump’s manner. They are only expressing the feelings that are inside them, grasping at words that fit their inside without regard for fitment on the outside. What we see as the lack of fitment, we call TDS.
These people have always been this way. There simply has not yet been a trigger to provoke them. I suspect that they understand nothing will stop Trump, and their extrapolation/projection of totalitarianism from this fact blows wind into their sails.
I suspect that hey are also the people who are outcome and identity rather than principle driven.
