Bash: “Senator Chis Murphy has accused I.C.E. agents of terrorizing children by targeting school bus stops to arrest parents as they drop their children off. What is your response to that?”

Ethics Verdict: Again, pure bias, and despicable on all ends—Murphy’s (what an asshole he is!), Bash’s, and the other illegal immigration enablers who think these vilifying distortions are fair and germane. Bash was referring to this story:

“Federal immigration agents have been arresting parents at school bus stops in a Connecticut town with a sizable immigrant community, according to Democratic Senator Chris Murphy and city officials. Jason Nova, deputy chief of staff in Danbury Mayor Roberto Alves’ office, told Newsweek that eyewitnesses reported seeing I.C.E. agents arrest parents at or near school bus stops and said the agents “waited for the children to board the school bus and then detained the individuals dropping them off.” “This morning in Danbury, I.C.E. was arresting parents at school bus stops,” Murphy wrote in a post on X on Wednesday. “But it’s more sinister. I.C.E. waited until the kids were on the bus so when they are dropped off at the end of the day, they are alone, scared to death they can’t find their parents. I’m heading to Danbury.”

“..In a Facebook post, Alves said the operations had left families “terrorized and living in fear” and called for “dignity, transparency, accountability, and due process,” while demanding information about who had been detained, the basis for the arrests, and reports of excessive force…Representative John Larson, a Connecticut Democrat, criticized the operation in a post on X, writing that, “As kids go back to school, Trump’s secret police snatched parents from bus stops in Danbury.”

Again, we could see Homan desperately trying not to roll his eyes as he listened to Bash (and talk about bad poker faces! Bash’s hatred for Homan, that is, Trump and I.C.E. , was palpable during the whole interview). He then said the obvious, which is that I.C.E. is doing its job, not trying to “terrorize” children. He added that officials like Murphy and Alves have made false accusations before and that he personally knew of no arrests at school bus stops. Then he also added, thank god, that there are no locales, certainly not bus stops, where illegal immigrants under court order for removal are immune from law enforcement.

Bash then thanked Homan for making himself available to answer questions, as her frozen face and tone of voice added an unspoken, “you vile, cruel, lackey for our racist President!”

Once again I found myself wishing that Homan dealt with his annoying mushmouth problem—there are ways, and I say this as speaking coach. The content of his presentations is always clear, concise and professional, but its packaging is so unappealing that he isn’t as effective as he needs to be.
