It is only fair to flag this idiocy, since I routinely call out the Times’ progressive and Democratic Party propaganda under the “Nah, there’s no mainstream media bias!” banner and leave the Post, which I stopped subscribing to a decade ago because it was so infuriatingly biased, relatively unscathed, :

We have “respected” news organizations literally telling the public that there is something cruel and unjust about deporting people who come here illegally as long as they don’t kill, rape, rob or set fires. This logic is in the same bonkers category as that irresponsible New York State Assemblywoman Emily Gallagher who feels shoplifting should be legalized. Yet I bet all of your progressive friends agree with the Post.
This wasn’t among my planned posts for today, but after picking on the Times in the previous post, I feel ethically obligated to point out that the Washington Post is an “enemy of the people” too.
Ethics Alarms 
So 60% of the target demographic has a criminal record?
I wonder how many of these Trump Deranged Acela Corridor inhabitants travel to foreign countries without a valid U.S. passport and any applicable visa.
Mrs. OB and I took a guided bus tour to Alamos, Mexico during the first Trump administration. The bulk of the people on the tour were retired university professors. They were, of course, up in arms about Trump’s existence on earth, never mind his presidency. But when the bus pulled up to the Mexican immigration stop, they all got off the bus and dutifully acquired the necessary Mexican tourist visa. I’m surprised no one confronted the Mexican authorities by insisting immigration is a human right.
Again, 9/11 is coming up and twenty-five years after the fact, New York City is literally being run by an Islamist. They’ve won. They’ve taken over the city that evidently sleeps.
25 Years Later, They Already Forgot
I do not understand their reasoning.
Trump said that he was going to prioritize those with criminal records.
They complain when people without criminal records are picked up; although they never say that it is a good thing to focus on the criminals.
It is good that he prioritized criminals but that does not mean he has to pass on “low-hanging fruit” just because someone here illegally does not have a criminal record.
What does bother me, though, is when people here legally get caught up in this. Those are mistakes I do not like.

Maybe I need another cup of coffee, but I’m not sure about the “I don’t see the problem…” FB friend. Could the problem he does not see be the apprehension of 500K illegals, rather than the Post’s editorial policy. He could be part of the “deport them all” crowd.
I, for one, think they should all go. That 60%, as noted above, have serious criminal activities in their resume is just an additional reason to eject them, the first being the illegal entry (or over-stay).
I doesn’t see any problem in what the Post seems to be highlighting as excessive enforcement. He’s absolutely in the “deport them all” crowd.
Trump’s campaign never actually claimed that deportations would be limited to violent felons, only that they would target the worst of the worst, first.
While there are a few benefits of illegal immigration, leftists, major corporations and elitists ignore the downsides such as:
Every sovereign nation worldwide controls its borders. For several years millions streamed across ours. “Oh well” just doesn’t cut it. Deport them all.
As for the mistakes and deaths. I cannot find data for the number of legal immigrants or citizens who have been detained or removed. If it were a large number I’m assuming a Bing search would have yielded results. Deaths occurring to those held by ICE are not even .01% of people arrested or held. That includes the Americans who were killed confronting ICE agents.
Bravo to the Trump Administration.
From what I can see with a quick check, about 41% of people deported under Obama did not have a criminal record. Hmmm, why didn’t we hear the outrage then?

What seems to be lost in all this is that just being in this country illegally is a criminal offense. No additional criminal activity is needed.
Yes, you’d think the word “Illegal” would be a big clue.
Well, they keep saying that no one is illegal because they don’t seem to understand how adjectives work. So, maybe we can substitute ‘foreign criminal’ for ‘illegal alien’?
