3.Dean Erwin Chemerinsky has a long and disgusting EA dossier (at the link) but is always—always, no exceptions—represented in the mainstream media as respected legal scholar. I don’t respect him: he’s an Ethics Villain, and undeniably so.
4. Notice that he says “diversity is important” but he never says why it’s important. This is just an article of faith with the Left. It is important because it just is, that’s all, and they say it is, so there.
5. I’m playing the Learned Judge tonight in a law school production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Trial by Jury” (1875, and as funny and sharp now as it was on opening night.) The Foreman of the Jury, a bass-baritone role, is being played by tiny female student, a soprano, who is inaudible and who can’t remember her entrances. She is easily the least able member of the chorus. Why was she cast in that role? She is the only “student of color” who auditioned, and the student organization has by-laws requiring “diversity” in casts. As a result, the show sounds worse, looks worse, all of the cast members who are qualified for their roles will get fewer benefits from their work and dedication as a result, the audience will enjoy the show less, and the exploited student, who is a very nice young woman, will be embarrassed in public. If I had to describe a perfect example of what’s wrong with DEI logic, I doubt that I could come up with a better one. Yet ideologues like Chemerinsky still use their authority to assure the world that discriminating against white males in pursuit of diversity is an “unalloyed virtue, as Gilbert might say.
6. Our cast—all of them (but me!) list their “pronouns” in their program bios— had a rehearsal in the faculty lounge. There are only two newspapers there for faculty perusal: The New York Times and the Washington Post. Nah, U.S. law schools aren’t Leftist indoctrination centers! What a ridiculous conspiracy theory…

I came across the following channel right before I read this post; and I think it is relevant to the topic.
The elites, like Chemerinsky talk liberal and act liberal in their profession, as that garners praise from the woke elites, but at home they live according to conservative values, they marry and then get children, send these children to expensive private schools and prep schools for college, and teach these children to do their best.
No, liberalism is about setting up an elite ruling class. They and their children are the elite and must be allowed to rule, by any means necessary. A colorblind meritocracy would mean that talented children of ‘dirty’ middle class conservatives could threaten their ruling class status. Liberals view minorities as inferior and not a threat to their rule. That is why liberals talk down to minorities and have reduced expectations for minorities (affirmative action). Conservatives are considered racists for expecting minorities to hold to the same standards as everyone else.
So, not, Chemerinsky and his fellow liberals in the elites don’t have ‘conservative values’ in private. They have elitist values.

It is more about life style than about expressed values. You may actually say that there is a conflict between the two.
Are you familiar with Charles Murray’s book “Coming Apart: The State Of White America”? Charles Murray demonstrates that the top and bottom of white America have drifted apart in core behaviors and values. The top still marries, while the bottom does not as they are either in situation-ships or not in a relationship at all. The highly educated upper class lives in geographic and social enclaves (e.g. gated communities, coops) and is socially disconnected from the lower class. The upper and lower class have a different attitude towards education; the upper class have high demands of their children, and the schools they attend (e.g. teacher union executives sending children to expensive private schools). The lower class faces a decline in traditional civic habits, including marriage, regular religious attendance, and industrious work habits.
If that Dean Erwin was part of any proceedings, in the past, currently, or in the future, would this be sufficient to quash any testimony provided? Even if it was an unrelated proceeding? It clearly shows a pre-determination and moral flexibility to lie to obtain a preferred outcome.
My experience in law school made me realize that the legal profession is politicized in a way I didn’t realize. Progressive ideology was everywhere. This guy was cited in my con law book. Crazy thing is that he’s not an idiot.

Some people are good at analyzing ideas and concepts in the abstract. It is a specific form of intelligence, but sometimes they aren’t able to interact in the actual, specific world.
One difference between my current self and my younger self is that I am way more concerned with what something means practically or specifically. In college, I loved abstractions and philosophy. Now, I see those things as useful, but I also see many people who are good in the classroom but shouldn’t have power over anything real.

So it’s fine for DEI conscious progressives to make judgements based on racism, or any other illegal, or immoral, or prejudicial bias, as long as they don’t get caught. So, just don’t reveal your motives; that is exactly what this professor is trying to indoctrinate the students with.
Based on the observed patterns of indoctrinated outcomes of students of higher learning, we’ve known that this is the kind of indoctrination that progressives have been engaging in, and progressives openly smear us as lunatic conspiracy theorists, but now we have a poster child to use as undeniable proof. This is “speaking the silent part out loud” and clear evidence that undeniably shows the hidden moral bankruptcy of progressives and their intentional indoctrination. Progressives, like that one, want intellectually stunted, gullible, morally bankrupt, hive minded drones that cannot think for themselves.

A slight confession, once interviewed a Marxist economist for a faculty opening. Rejected her. Not because she was a Marxist economist, though that’s a bit of an oxymoron from my perspective, instead it was because she admitted she required students to engage in a class project inthe community advocating for Marxist policies. Requiring advocacy went beyond teaching to advancing her ideology outside the classroom and campus. I could not support her hiring due to this step too far.
There are repeated examples of academics committing egregious acts in the name of radical leftist ideals, even breaking laws and violating court rulings in their zeal. And nothing ever seems to happen to them. They do not lose their positions, they get paid to take administrative leave – they are untouchable. Until the dynamic changes these racists will continue to poison our youth.
In my opinion, Trial by Jury is one of G&S’ most underappreciated works. I strongly recommend the Opera Australia production from 2005 (link below). The entrance of the Esteemed Judge through the audience is absolutely hilarious. Enjoy!
