Both Democrats and Republicans are paying attention. Probably not enough of them, but still…
In 2020, about 46 % of voters, those terrified by months of deliberate Wuhan virus fearmongering by the CDC, Democrats and their news media, cast ballots by mail. This included 58% of Democrats and 33% of Republicans. A new NBC News poll finds that 69% of registered voter plan to vote in person and only 21% plan to vote by mail. Seventy-two percent of Democrats plan to vote in person and only 23% plan to vote by mail, down from 34% two years ago and far below 2020 levels. Among Independents, 20% plan to vote by mail, down from 28 % in 2024. Over half of GOP voters say they will vote in person on Election Day, and 16% plan to vote by mail.
I am reading that this change is based on diminishing fear of dread diseases. No, I believe that the message is getting through to the public despite relentless Axis lies and propaganda. Mail-in ballots are not secure, regardless of what party you belong to. The fact that cheating Democrats want it that way doesn’t mean that thinking Democrats shouldn’t want their own votes to be counted.
I’m not at all sure how deciding to vote in person makes voting more secure. I assume in person votes get counted. The problem is the scads of ballots that are mailed out and float around until they suddenly appear in precincts in neatly wrapped bundles on election night. or the following early morning.
It’s more secure by virtue of chain of custody at multiple stage, if nothing else. And at least the person showing up at the polling place casts the vote. Who knows who fills out grandma’s mail-in ballot?
From my experience, I will assert that mail in voting is fairly secure — for honest people. There is no way it can ever be as secure as in person voting, simply because the ballots are not secured from the time they leave your hand to when the election officials receive them.
For less than honest people, shall we say, it is not hard to imagine mail in ballots being abused. How much that happens I cannot say — but other countries have tried it and moved away from mail in voting due to security issues.
I think it backfired last time. By election night a lot of the ballots in the City precincts in the swing states had already been mailed in and counted, so there couldn’t be a late night/early morning surge of ballots or a phone call asking how many votes needed to be manufac…ah, counted to put the Democrat over the top.

I trust voting by mail. What I don’t trust is the chain of custody behind locked doors. The 2020 election showed that a bin full of ballots in sequential order could just linger under a table and get pulled out at any point.
I’m in Colorado. I have no doubt my vote gets counted. What I don’t know is how many of the other votes are legitimate.
