Conservatives, Republicans and Trump are at a permanent disadvantage when developments supporting their positions and policies are routinely buried, spun, distorted or ignored altogether. How much coverage did the GNP numbers get last week? Never mind: the average voter doesn’t understand the GNP, or care.
3. After a past GOP wipe-out, the late Rush Limbaugh opined, “You can’t fight free stuff.” This round the Democrats (and their allied socialists and communists) were promising lots of free stuff, especially free health care. Barack Obama had the chutzpah to run around the country demanding that U.S. health care costs had to be fixed, after his much-heralded solution when he was POTUS turned out to be an expensive flop, as many predicted at the time. Have I mentioned that Barack Obama is an asshole?
4. If you want proof of just how ignorant and easily manipulated much of the voting public is, try this: it looks like every one of the anti-data center measures on the ballot will win. Democrats seized on AI as their latest hysteria-mongering tactic, now that climate change proved to be a waste of billions and only a handful of woke boobs are still wearing masks. Dealing with transformational new technologies by hoping they’ll go away has never worked and never will, and the AI revolution is a particularly dangerous one to be slow to join. “Don’t know much about history” paired with “Don’t know much technology” will not lead to a wonderful world. Morons.
Proving how much they deserve the label “The Stupid Party,” Republicans chose too many terrible candidates. Democrats did too, but their terrible candidates were air-brushed into faux beauty by the Axis media. The GOP lost a winnable Senate seat in South Carolina by nominating the sister of the late Republican who had held the seat. What was that supposed to mean? “Aw, poor lady, this will make her feel better!”? “Hey, isn’t this a hereditary aristocracy?” “Who else have we got? Our party doesn’t have any qualified candidates!”? President Trump is accountable because he had the brilliant idea of having Darlene Graham appointed to take her brother’s place, but Darlene was the main Ethics Dunce here. She should have declined overtures to put her in the Senate, and she absolutely should not have sought the nomination to run in the mid-terms. After all, you could throw a rock into a crowd and have good odds of hitting someone as fit for the U.S. Senate as she is. Reckless POTUS plus deluded relative plus irresponsible GOP primary voters equal a flipped Senate seat. Good job, everybody!
Added: Apparently Trump asked Darline to run for a full term. (See item #8 below). Writes Jennifer Rust: “Can you blame Darline Graham for saying yes when he asked her to run?” Yes, and you should. Knowing your limitations and being responsible is everyone’s ethical duty.
5. That the Maine Democratic Party’s disgusting behavior trying to defeat Susan Collins succeeded just ensures cheating, lying and gaming the system becomes further embedded in the national party. Collins ran a miserable campaign, essentially arguing that she votes like a Democrat in the Senate a lot anyway. Why would any Republican be motivated to vote for her? Why would a Democrat?
6. Apparently the Blue Wave in Texas confirms the fear that all the alienated California progressives who fled the mess their mad ideology made in the Golden State now want to produce an encore in the Lone Star state. But again, Paxton was a terrible candidate who never should have been nominated. Apparently today’s Texans prefer phonies (Talarico) to felons. I can’t argue too hard against that choice.
7. Back to the media for a nonce: I read a piece at The Hill describing Michigan’s new Jew-hating, terrorism-supporting Senator as “a doctor.” He has a medical degree, and misrepresents himself as a physician. The Hill also wrote that he served as Executive Director of the Detroit Health Department (2015–2017) and later as the Director of the Wayne County Department of Health, Human and Veterans Services. Neither is a medical position or one that requires a medical license. They are administrative jobs: an experienced manager or a lawyer could handle them. In fact, I, with my law licenses, ran a national heath care organization.
8. Ultimately, the main architect of last night’s disaster was President Trump. If, as Adam Coleman says, mid-terms occur when the public starts getting sick of the President, this POTUS often seemed to be trying to make voters sick of him while he actively encouraged Trump Derangement. Trump’s duty to the nation was to minimize the Democratic Party’s push for total dominance, shredding of the Constitution, open borders and anti-white, anti-male discrimination. Instead he stupidly indulged himself and his passion for un-Presidential speech and conduct, as well as the appearance of impropriety and sometimes actual impropriety, while often making defensible decisions that were still guaranteed to be widely seen as improper anyway.
Let’s see: these are just some of the examples I have flagged: the recent press secretary debacle, his gifts to his staff, his trolling about his place in Presidential history, and the indefensible “Trump Kennedy Center” stunt. Regarding Trump’s unforgivable attack last year on Rob Reiner after he had been murdered, I wrote,
“This, in turn, poses the real danger that Trump’s revolting post will prove to be a tipping point, that last, tiny, thing that makes the Jenga tower fall or Mr. Creosote’s stomach explode as it does after eating the “wafer thin” morsel offered him in the clip above from “The Meaning of Life.” Trump’s stupid, mean words may well tip public opinion against his whole Presidency permanently and completely. If so, it will undoubtedly be the most trivial verbal tipping point in U.S. political history. By comparison, George Romney saying he had been “brainwashed,” President Ford saying in a debate that the Soviet Union did not dominate Eastern Europe, or President Carter claiming in his debate with Ronald Reagan that he consulted daughter Amy on nuclear weapons policy seem positively earth-shattering. And yet if attacking a recently slaughtered director crushes Trump’s chances of holding off the Far Left’s siege on American values and core individual liberties, it may prove to be the most consequential moment in his Presidency.”
Who knows what part that played in last night’s rout, but this, which I hold to be genuinely impeachable conduct, was worse. You can bet the new House majority will see it as impeachable as well.
Conclusion: President Trump did this to himself, his party and his country. Now it’s “Make America Stupid Again for at least two years.
An unprecedentedly flawed president. And it will have been an unprecedentedly unprecedented sixteen years by their end.
“The GOP lost a winnable Senate seat in North Carolina by nominating the sister of the late Republican who had held the seat.”
Man, I wish she was in North Carolina. She came to my city two weeks ago to give a speech. She spent the whole time attacking her opponent and was very lackluster. The 79-year-old Governor who introduced her had more spirit than she did. The Speaker of the State House spent his time hyping her up, and I just spent the whole time wishing he was the one running.
Whoops, I did it again. I bet I’ve switched the Carolinas at least ten times since EA started. Thanks. Fixed.
If it makes any difference, it looks like the Democrats will probably forget their talking points about “affordability”, “healthcare” and “democratic norms” for the next two years while they engage in relentless lawfare against the President.
Goody.
Talarico is also a racist, as I poin ted out in comments on other posts.
Well, the news media has been saying Trump is a racist, so there’s that.
Except I posted an actual quote that looks like a find+replace from Der Sturmer
I can’t really find out why (non-Democrats) hate Paxton so much. Yes, the Democrats have given him the Giuliani treatment with accusations, but I can’t tell if they are justified or not. When I look at the leftist media, the main charges I see are that he sued to stop DACA (an unconstitutional ‘law’), he sued to override the cancelling of the Keystone Pipeline (didn’t the Democrats do that successfully when Trump cancelled contracts that weren’t even that far along?), sued over Biden blocking federal oil leases, sued to block a federal commission that was going to fine companies for the ‘social cost’ of pollution, and sued over Biden’s end to deportations of illegal immigrants. That is why the Democrats hate him. They have made a lot of accusations to get him disbarred, but they did that with a lot of Trump’s people as well wrongfully, so I can’t tell if any of those have merit or this is the Michael Flynn treatment.
Now I have seen Talarico and I have to say he is a moron or insane. I can’t tell which (could be both).
He justifies gender theory by claiming that Jesus said that when you make male and female the same, when there is no difference between them, when the male is not male and the female is not female, then you will enter the Kingdom of God.
He said the Dobbs decision made every ‘person with a uterus’ federal property. He asked the Biden administration to hire abortionists as federal employees and have them perform abortions on federal property to circumvent Texas state law (on his State Representative stationary). He proclaims from his church that abortion is a moral and social good.
He claimed that science states that there are at least six biological sexes.
His church holds that the Resurrection didn’t happen.
He cooed over his Fauci action figure (with removable mask!).

He allowed an avowed atheist to be a member of his church and believes that other religions are equally valid ways to follow God.
His church prepared for (during the service) and went to a ‘No Kings’ protest as a group.
He equates Jesus to other prophetic voices, including Fred Rogers.
So, this is beyond being just ‘phony’ or weird.
#4 China won last night. By a landslide.
And we get 2 years of lawfare beyond just impeachment theater during the exact time China is expected to be most ready to make a move on Taiwan.
Well done short sighted voters who think slightly lower diesel prices are better than our children being nuked by Iran in a few years.
Well done.
Bingo.
