Ethics Dunces: Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX) and Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick (R-PA)

Let us, in this case, emphasize the most important word, shall we? The Congressmen in question are Ethics DUNCES . As in dolts, fools, idiots, clods, slackers, meat-heads, dummies, dim-wits, lame-brains and bozos. Get out your thesauruses, because they deserve all the abuse we can heap on them.

Believe it or not, GOP Representatives Rep. Pete Sessions, a House member from Texas, and freshman Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick couldn’t be bothered to show up at their official swearing-in ceremony, which is a violation of the same Constitution that their elected Republican speaker insisted be read in the House chamber to symbolize a renewed institutional determination to respect and defend it.

Was it a dire emergency that kept the Congressmen from meeting their constitutional obligations on the very first day of their terms? Were they being held at gunpoint by Islamic extremists or Mama Grizzlies? Oh n0ooooooooooooooo. While the rest of the House was being made official in the House chamber, Sessions and Fitzpatrick were just outside, schmoozing at a fundraising event for Fitzpatrick supporters. That’s getting your priorities straight, gentlemen.

Morons. Hypocrites. Frauds. Where’s that thesaurus?

Later this week, House Rules Committee chair David Dreier had to recess hearings on repealing the health care law when he learned that Sessions, a member of the committee, was not a constitutionally valid member of the 112th Congress, since he had never been sworn in. Clueless and arrogant, Sessions had been casting votes all day

Sessions and Fitzpatrick have now been sworn in, because it’s too late to throw them out and send them home. Sessions’ failure to be sworn in, however, could mean the rules package the House passed on Wednesday doesn’t count, because Sessions was voting illegally. Speaker John Boehner is trying to persuade House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to agree to a unanimous consent decree that would make all the work Sessions and Fitzpatrick did over the past day count retroactively.

And you know what? She should say no. Absolutely not. The Republicans take over with high-flown rhetoric and promises of fealty to the Constitution, and pull something like this? Disgraceful. Incompetent. Outrageous. Also brainless, dazed, deficient, dense, dim, doltish, dopey, dull, ill-advised, imbecilic, inane, laughable, ludicrous, mindless, obtuse, puerile, rash, senseless, shortsighted, simpleminded, thick-headed,unintelligent, unthinking, and witless.

If the constituents of Sessions and Fitzpatrick have a shred of sense, responsibility and integrity, they will resolve today to vote for whatever subspecies or inanimate object that runs against these two guys in 2012, no matter what the two accomplish in the next two years. Sent to Washington to make a statement about accountable governance, diligent representation, and respect for the Constitution, their immediate response was “Whatever.”  That’s strike three, as far as I’m concerned.

They don’t deserve to be trusted again. The only people who vote for dunces like these are dunces themselves.

Also asses, birdbrains, blockheads, boneheads, buffoons, dimwits, dopes, dorks, drips, dullards, dunderheads,  goofs, ignoramuses, knuckleheads, nincompoops, ninnies, nitwits, numskulls, oafs, pinheads, scatterbrains, schnooks, simpletons, and twits.

  1. Dumb-asses.

I would like to volunteer my congressional district as the district that sends a representative to congress to make every other representative’s life hell. My representative’s goal would be to issue as many non-partisan corrective actions as possible.

  2. I agree. As my trusts and estates professor once taught us, if you are ever in a position to appoint any kind of board or oversight body, make sure that you appoint at least one S.O.B., and he’ll keep an eye on all the others.
