Unethical.
Don’t tell me I have no sense of humor. I get it, and it’s clever. Kind of fun, too. But just because a form of dirty campaigning is funny doesn’t change the basic principles it violates. Putting out a fake version of a political opponent’s supporter, poster, flyer, campaign material, web address, Twitter feed or website in order to trick people into either believing that the opposition campaign’s campaign or candidate is saying or doing something they are not really saying or doing for any purpose, including satire, crosses ethical lines into unethical campaign tactics territory. In a word, it’s cheating. It is unfair, deceptive and dishonest, but mostly, it is irresponsible, because it opens the door to far worse things, like sending obnoxious plants carrying racist signs to the other party’s rallies, robocalls making outrageous statements on behalf of the opposition, or putting the Obamaphone lady in fake Obama ads.
It has been a despicable campaign, and this Democratic National Committee fake Romney website not only makes it worse, it creates a slippery slope that leads right to the sewer.

Agreed. Funny but wrong.
Nice little bit of coding, though.
I actually love the execution. I keep playing with the damn thing. WHEEE!
It’s my new favorite game. 🙂
It IS fun, isn’t it?
Nothing about this surprises me. It’s been a matter of common expectation since the beginning of the election season that this would likely be as dirty a campaign as any previous one and worse than most. Desperation drives it. The American Left invested everything in Obama’s administration. If it goes down a failure, their agenda not only falters, but may fall never to rise again. And its allies in the media, unions, radical movements and other sectors may fall with it. This they know. Dirty tricks like this are only harbingers. The violence is already starting, with calls for riots should Obama lose. That’s coming, too.
Tgt has chided me for disrespect of the African-American community for expressing concern that the tone of the campaign, the media’s irresponsible “narrative” that Obama couldn’t lose and that the election was already won, the cult of personality that Obama has irresponsibly permitted to flourish in black schools and communities, and the despicable and pervasive Democratic and media pundit tactic of crying racism at any criticism of Obama was laying the groundwork for social unrest and race riots if the President loses, as I think he will. It has nothing to do with disrespect. I has to do with creating the illusion of wrongdoing where none exists, in a community where too much hope and pride has been invested in a very, very flawed leader. The DNC is running ads narrated by Morgan Freeman, who is on record as saying that Obama is opposed because he’s black. Sometimes I think the Democrats want people to fear riots, so they are afraid to vote against Obama.
Nah. Can’t be.
‘Democrats want people to fear riots, so they are afraid to vote against Obama.’
You think:

Yes, Twitter has been scary, but Twitter is always scary. I don’t know what to think. Here is Virginia, the number of reported vandalizing of homes and cars with Romney signs and stickers is very troubling.
Having the same problem in California, not a surprise. I have to bring my Romney yard sign in at night. Oh well …..
Tiggy can “chide” all he wants. If he wants to pass along Chris Matthews’ talking points this way, he should just post a link to MSNBC by way of reply and have done with it. It saves space and adds no more substance to the conversation. As to ads, did you see the one by Samuel L. Jackson?
Ya, I have to give them credit…very clever.
Why should this surpruise anyone? No organization, political party, or whatever, can rise any higher than its head — and always remember where the Democrat party head was trained — Chicago.
This is pretty clever for Chicago…
To hell with both of you!
Hey, just kidding, Mark. I love the town that Billy Sunday could not shut down!
Chicago- like San Francisco and New Orleans- seems to have developed a culture over time that actually celebrates fraud, graft and assorted malfeasance among its public figures. They also seem to give “brownie points” to those who can, when exposed, either deny it creatively or turn it into a political plus by proclaiming it. This is considered by many to add a regional “color” to such places. You can’t stop citizens from a foolish folly, I guess; even when it impacts their own livelihoods the most. When they try to make such places the template for the entire nation, however- and when us “hicks” come to understand that this is what’s transpiring- that’s when they flirt with their downfall.
Now stop trying to get me in trouble with Windy Pundit!
She should know better than anyone!
I could see it being unethical if it tried to pass itself off as a real site but it doesnt. Its just a bit of cyber humor.
This is one truth-challenged and math-challenged party, calling another truth-challenged party math-challenged. It’s too 2008 all over again.
