This seems to be an appropriate follow up to the Rumble post yesterday.
Washington Post reporter email to disparage Dave Portnoy with his advertisers and then claims it was an innocent attempt o get a response.
https://nypost.com/2023/09/21/dave-portnoy-bashes-washington-post-reporter-over-hit-piece/
I wonder if Emily Heil the reporter would appreciate having someone ask others about her writing skills while including unsubstantiated allegations of making up facts or plagiarism.
Classic example of Schrödinger’s Douchebag.
AOC discusses the Ethics Incompleteness Principle!

The post is a request for ideas for Ms. Ocasio-Cortez’s next livestreamed open forum. One poster, perhaps tongue in cheek, says she should talk about “justice for Tuvix”, which AOC acknowledges as a deep topic.
For background, “Tuvix” is a one-off character on Star Trek Voyager that was created when a transporter malfunctioned, and two main characters Tuvok and Nelix were scrambled together to form a unique sentient being dubbed Tuvix (who has their combined memories and experiences if I recall correctly). The episode revolved around the science of unscrambling the two, until a monkey wretch was thrown in: Tuvic refused to consent.
Tuvix did not want to die!
Captain Janeway order the unscrambling procedure anyways. A debate in the Star Trek community has ensued over whether she is a murderer.
Actress Kate Mulgrew weighs in (as her captain character), noting it should be Nelix and Tuvok that make the decision (but are unable having been scrambled). Being unable to advocate for themselves, Janeway become their advocate.
Tim Russ also weighs in as Tuvok, noting his conflict of interest in the matter. Interestingly, he has both in-character and real life conflicts. His character of course want to live, but Tim Russ would presumably want to keep his job!
Choosing to save two
humansentient crew member’s lives who can’t advocate for themselves, while taking the life of someone actively protesting his demise has real ethics issues in play. I’d be very interested to see Ms. Ocasio-Cortez discuss the issue, though I doubt she could play it straight. (The parallels to other issues she has already taken intellectually dishonest positions on should be obvious.)(Note, this particular post is not meant to be critical of Ms. Ocasio-Cortez for addressing the issue, nor meant to excuse away prior behavior that should be criticized; if anything, it highlights her occasional moments of clarity that explain her appeal).

What? That’s weird. I’m sorry. I’ll look into it pronto.
Why is your twitter page blocked?
jvb
Because that’s not my Twitter account any more. The “unusual activity” is apparently that I deleted the account when Twitter’s old regime kicked President Trump out. My current Twitter account is @EthicsAlarmist.
Oh. Nevermind.

Just recently, someone on InstaGram shared this tweet in her InstaGram story.
If these people are really that fragile, then maybe theym, not society, are the ones with the problem.
Old grifters never die?

Per a tweet by Fox’s Jesse Watters:
“Today, the Clinton Global Initiative announced their very own program to rebuild Ukraine. The US is sending the World Bank $25 billion. Then, the World Bank is sending money to the Clintons. And then the Clintons are sending it to Ukraine.
Joe Biden also just appointed a Democrat mega-donor to be the Ukraine reconstruction czar. Her qualifications? She’s a billionaire heiress who bankrolled Obama’s election.
But don’t you dare ask where our $100 billion of aid went, because the Ukrainian army’s American trans “disinformation” czar says asking questions is treasonous.”
I haven’t seen much in the way of confirmation of this from other news sources. Could be loosely founded speculation by Watters, or “disinterest” in the MSM for stories that don’t hammer Republicans. Either is entirely possible. Certainly it bears watching.
At least this part is true (maybe, it IS CNBC, after all):
Biden has asked Congress to increase the World Bank’s financing by more than $25 billion, a move that will enable the bank to further help developing countries achieve their development and economic goals.

The USA has its own Stasi style law enforcement agency.
Their conduct seems a bit unethical to me.
