In large part because a large percentage of women rationalize the killing of human beings in their wombs as a “right,” and also because so many of them are programmed to be suckers for arguments like “They’re only seeking better lives for their children!” to excuse open borders,” “If this gun law only saves one life, it’s worth it,” and “All Joe Biden is guilty of is being a good father” (in response to undeniable evidence that the President enabled Hunter’s influence peddling), the women of the younger generations particularly are overwhelmingly woke, extremely progressive, and inclined to tear up when they hear “Imagine.”
Hence a majority of Millenial and GenZ femmes, 54%, reported to pollsters cited by the New York Post that it is a “relationship red flag if a partner listens to ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast.” or refuses to see the “Barbie” movie.
Well, I’ll go to any movie my wife wants to see, and had the same attitude when I was dating. And then came “Looking for Mr. Goodbar’….
A report released this month in the Financial Times shows that American women aged 18–30 are a whopping 30% more left-leaning than their male peers. It’s a frightening trend sweeping the world, the Times claims. In the UK, Germany, and South Korea as well as here, men are increasingly moving rightward right while women head to the left. The #MeToo movement was a catalyst, because it gave rise to “fiercely feminist values among young women who felt empowered to speak out against long-running injustices.” As we have discussed here, they also were highly selective in how they chose to speak out and whom they chose to give a pass to, and they didn’t care much about such trivia as due process and fairness.
The statistical odds of finding a Gen Z partner is sinking, because women are putting a disproportional emphasis on political agreement. “Daters are being forced to choose between feeling ideologically compromised or going without sex,” the Times concludes.
The biggest red flag of all for for young women, according to the NY Post’s poll, “was for a potential partner to identify as a MAGA Republican, with more than three-quarters (76%) of those polled admitting this would make them want to run for the hills.”
If that isn’t depressing evidence that politics is ruining everything, I don’t know what is. That the public is so saturated with political news and commentary that even a sliver of either sex would choose a life mate based on what party they vote for and what partisan issues and figures they support demonstrates a widespread misuse of the cognitive dissonance scale. It would be as if I had refused to date any woman who didn’t like baseball, who was a Yankee fan or who didn’t appreciate “Shane.”
Never mind baseball, I honestly can say I never talked politics with any woman I dated; it never occurred to me. I once ended a relationship with a sweet and talented grad student when she spelled “calf” in a Scrabble game “kalf” and said she wasn’t sure about the “l”…
and also lectured a woman much younger than I about how it was unacceptable that she had never heard of Jackie Robinson. Still, those were exceptions spread over 15 years,
This is intolerance and self-righteousness at an extinction level for the species. Add to that the fact that women are too frequently sitting ducks for seductive, sociopathic manipulators like Bill Clinton, and we have a massive chunk of the population that overcome sentiment and emotions sufficiently to make rational political choices. (I’ll never forget my horror when I tried to explain to a brilliant female lawyer I worked with that Clinton, then in the White House, was untrustworthy—and this was while he was denying that he had”sex with that woman.” “Oh, I think he’s just wonderful!” she gushed like the girls asking “Mr. Sandman” to bring them a man with “wavy hair like Liberace.” That was the first time I wondered whether the 19th Amendment had a down side.
The sick divisions over politics being encouraged today by the news and popular media, along with the mad intolerance of anyone who holds an opinion different from our favorite tribal group, are killing civilized society, and making love more difficult than ever.
At least the new supposed ideal “666” standard for qualified male mates—6 figure income. 6-pack abs and 6 feet tall— reflects traditional preferences for woman: healthy, strong and affluent. Sure it’s shallow, but it is traditional shallowness; not like expecting the Right Man to support DEI and Greta Thunberg.

Let me tell you something; MAGA women are the BEST and far superior to woke regressive progressive cupcakes dominating the Left and for one simple reason. Encountering a down-to-earth natural beauty with good values and who doesn’t paint her face is pretty much only happening if she is a conservative.

This makes me embarrassed to be a Gen X/ Gen Y woman. My parents were immigrants from Cuba and as a kid, they taught me all about how the government works and about all the presidents and states and the differences between political parties.
Since I am a lifelong celibate, I don’t have dealbreakers since I don’t date. However, I have a conservative family and liberal social circle with myself being a political independent, so I’m familiar with both sides and can respect people of different political backgrounds as long as they are intelligent and not crazy. It’s disturbing how many young women think MAGA men are evil, and how many think Joe Rogan is a dealbreaker. My older brother is a MAGA Republican and while we disagree sometimes, we get along well. Joe Rogan just has odd people on his show, and yes, some of them are unsavory types. I just don’t listen to his podcast because it doesn’t interest me, it’s not to my taste
I’m pretty sure Ash Wednesday replaces the feast of St. Valentine on the liturgical calendar. Maybe if there is a particular devotion to St. Valentine, you can celebrate his feast tomorrow. Happy Lent!
I wonder a lot of things about this growing political divide between the sexes. Men, especially white men, are being told they are toxic, are becoming less and less prevalent in the university setting, and are taking more and more blue collar jobs. So I suppose it makes more sense that women, now with a greater share of academia, would drift left, as academia tends lean heavily left naturally. Men would drift right because of what factor? Is it a reaction to being classified as toxic? Is it attraction to a conservative view of masculinity? Is working down-to-earth jobs on fundamentals (electricity, plumbing, construction) that makes them appreciate more how everything is put together and not take it for granted?
All these influences could be explanations, but I still have to wonder if this divide is directed. It has to lead to greater destruction of family; is this intended by our elite who want to see more people dependent on the government? Or is that crazy? Is the plan to eliminate white men, the supposed cause of every problem in the universe? Or is that crazy, too?
I’ll have to keep pondering this, because I agree that this is very problematic. At least the conservatives are still having babies, so hopefully extinction is off the table. For now.

Ha! That is awesome! I wish I had seen them, but no, I missed those candies. I did seem some memes with the caption “When Ash Wednesday falls on Valentine’s Day,” and the priest traces a heart on the forehead with ashes.
Coincidentally, our third daughter’s birthday is also on Valentine’s Day. Having just turned 5, she was none too pleased to have to go to Mass on her birthday, and the ashes on the forehead frightened her to some extent, so she started crying and scrubbing them off.
My wife and I hope we’ll be able to raise our daughters with good conservative values: honesty, hard work, humility, personal responsibility, logic, and so on. I don’t know if you’ve seen the kid’s series on economics, “The Tuttle Twins,” produced by Connor Boyack, but we found them, liked them, and have been having our eldest read through them and discuss. When our other girls are reading they’ll have the chance to go through them, as well. The point, though, is that the Left is so filled with righteous indignation, but anymore they can only express themselves through feelings and virtue signaling. Hopefully we can do our part by raising our daughters to at least reason through what they believe, critically evaluate the propositions others present them, but always keep the dignity of the human person forefront in all interactions.

So men either lie or change their views. I think Dennis Rodman put it best in his otherwise worthless autobiography that “women control the pussy and most men will sell their souls to get some.” Either that, or they look to Eastern Europe or Asia for partners. Filipinas are especially popular, because they are very obedient and very family-oriented and very loyal.
Honestly, American women generally aren’t worth it. Generally speaking they seem to be selfish, greedy, and self-centered. Then again, what do you expect when they grow up having their heads stuffed with the idea that they deserve not only everything, but the best of everything? Does it come as a surprise when they act like no one else matters, when they’ve been taught that relationships are all about what they can expect and not at all about what anyone else might expect? It certainly doesn’t help that they are full of the idea that if things don’t go their way, someone must be being sexist and it’s their obligation to call someone out for being sexist or sue them for being sexist.
Of course, all of that goes out the window if you are sufficiently rich. In the end, most women are all about money and how much of yours that they didn’t work for that they can spend. But don’t marry them, because then they can spend you dry and then shut off the sex tap and say they’re never in the mood, leaving you high and dry. That’s why at a wedding I attended some years ago, when they called the single men out onto the dance floor so that the groom could throw the bride’s garter, we all just stood there and let it fall to the floor, without even making a move to catch it.
If you are not into body piercings, tattoos, pink hair, painted faces, and a generally angry resentful unpleasant attitude, date wholesome conservative women.
In response to Steve-O-in-NJ: Having lived for two decades in the Philippines, I can say that while Filipina women seem obedient, in reality they exercise much control over their men. So an American guy who thinks he’s marrying a docile lady will soon find out different. Also, he will discover that he’s not just marrying her, but also her entire extended family.
I said Filipinas are popular. What you say is probably true, especially after they close the deal, I’ve seen more than a few American men suddenly find that their formerly docile Pinay is not so docile. Yes, family is important there, including extended family, all of whom want their piece of the pie is an American shows up. Online scamming is also big, the old bit where the Filipina woman pretends to like you during chats, only to suddenly start having a rash of bad fortune and hitting you up for money.
My personal favorite is the story of an American man who fell in love with a Filipina woman who had him finance the building of a house in the Philippines, which legally he couldn’t own, foreigners can’t own property there apparently. The woman never bothered to tell him she was married, and when the American showed up to finally meet his sweet Filipina love, he found her husband sitting on the couch in the house he’d built, drinking beer.
My dad passed briefly through the Philippines while serving as a naval officer in the Vietnam War. Just walking around there were a bunch of Filipinas ready to throw themselves at him and his fellow officers. He was engaged to my mom (may she rest in peace), though, so he ignored all that.
Asian women are not my thing anyway (too alien, and that includes Polynesian women). Nor for that matter are southeast European women (too dark, smelly cuisine, and families too intrusive), Scandinavian women (too liberal), Middle Eastern women (Me with a Muslim? Hahahaha!), or black women (are you kidding?). No Irish women either, the accent is charming in small doses but annoying long term, they’re headstrong, and they go zero to 60 in one second if you disagree with them.

Therein lies the biggest problem with the sexual revolution. Everything is reduced to sex. There is no meaningful relationship if sex isn’t among the 1st steps. They article ends up framing successful “dating” as access to the act of sex. Nothing about any meaningful spiritual bonding on a foundation of deep trust and proof of commitment.
For what it’s worth, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with disqualifying someone as a marrying partner based on their politics. Politics represent values and I wouldn’t consider anyone as a potential mother of my children if I think the values they’ll pass on to my children will warp those children into an unhealthy worldview.
The problem is that modern values are so corrupt and modern politics corrupted with them that you can associate particular parties with particularly bad values.

Women have always instinctively sought out the 666 types. This is a paleontological fact. This is little different than what scientists have found about interpretation of beauty in humans.
Women seem hardwired to seek security and protection due to their inherent physical differences and over the eons women are particularly vulnerable during gestation.
The entry of women into the workforce posed new challenges. Women needed new types of protections: protection from discrimination, sexual advances, etc so the new protector became government so all women needed men for is to augment their income and sexual gratification. Those without incomes are cared for by the government.
What society has not kept up with is changing primary social responsibilities such as selective service requirement for women and the expectation that women are completely responsible for their sexual decisions. We still hold men primarily responsible for the financial costs of offspring. Women receiving welfare benefits are not required to work but males getting food stamps are. We still hang on to the belief that women are the better custodial parent by default.
Nothing has really changed men are now just competing with the government for mates. The problem for women will occur in a decade or two when the government’s ability to provide protection and resources dries up when the debt becomes so large no one will lend a dime to our governments.
Jack – this goes hand in hand with another topic. Have you yet heard the term “passport bros”? Essentially, your post has laid out the problem and “passport bros” is the reaction. US males going to other countries to find love and bringing home a bride with the traditional values they share around traditional roles.

AKA mail-order brides. You bring them home and expect them to cook, clean, and so on by day, and then prance around in a teddy at night. Yuck. Usually these tend to be from eastern Europe.
Anyone seen the recent season of Fargo ?
All but one of the truly “bad” characters (except maybe a weird foreign immortal sin-eater immortal assassin…the final scene with him is the best in the series) in season 5 are some form of a leftist’s cartoonish presentation of stereotypical right-wing male caricatures. They are various combinations of brutal, pseudo law-and-order, bible-spouting, wife-abusing males (some more stupid than others). The one bad female is still a strong character, but is an evil rich “conservative” corporatist who financially preys on the less fortunate in distress, and has a direct line to “the orange idiot” to request federal troops. There are other thinly veiled cracks aimed at trump or his supporters. The other main female characters are good, strong and smart. The not-evil males are mainly weak and ineffective. Even a mostly normal and good (and about the only black) male is an officer ultimately brought down by being hesitant and weak.
We expect to see pretty much every character in Fargo to be at least a bit off-kilter, but it just doesn’t ring true for writer/director Noah Hawley to say “We’re not trying to be political“
