Ethics Villain: “Morning Joe” Scarborough, But You Should Have Known That Already

If Joe Scarborough had a scrap of decency, an atom of responsibility, or a wisp of the capacity for shame, he would voluntarily end his “Morning Joe” show, retire to private life, and ideally wear a paper bag over his head ’til the end of his days. Of course, if MSNBC was a professional news operation and not a den of hacks, it wouldn’t allow Scarborough back on the air next week.

I nearly posted about Scarborough two days ago, before I saw this clip today. He was featured in the Times piece titled “One by One, Biden’s Closest Media Allies Defect After the Debate.” The main three close Biden “media allies” mentioned were Morning Joe, Van Jones and NYT columnist Thomas Friedman. I was going to write something along the lines of, “Scarborough, Jones and Friedman! Would it be possible to gather an array of less credible, more ethically-revolting weasels? Having allies like them mean nothing, and having allies like them abandon you means nothing. Has the fable of the Scorpion and the Frog ever been more applicable?” Here’s the last addition to Van Jones’ Ethics Alarms dossier: he’s a proven anti-white race-huckster and face-man who cleans up nice for cameras and usually keeps his inner racist at bay so he can keep his lucrative CNN gig. The last time Friedman made the blog was in 2019, when he wrote that President Trump was “protected by big media outlets”! He really wrote that.

Now here’s how the sad Times story begins, talking about Scarborough:

Joe Scarborough pursed his lips and adjusted his tie. It was 6 a.m. on Friday, seven and a half hours after a diminished President Biden had gingerly stepped off the debate stage, and the host of “Morning Joe” on MSNBC was about to deliver a painful message to viewers of television’s most reliable redoubt of Biden support. “I love Joe Biden,” Mr. Scarborough began as the cameras flipped on in his home studio in Maine. “I think his presidency has been an unqualified success.”

But.

He spent much of the night with his mouth agape and his eyes darting back and forth,” the anchor said. “He couldn’t fact-check anything Donald Trump said. He missed one layup after another after another.” Now, he concluded, “is the last chance for Democrats to decide whether this man we’ve known and loved for a very long time is up to the task of running for president of the United States.”

But Joe! Just three months ago, you described the President as a combination of Jack Kennedy, FDR and Carl Sagan! If he’s fallen apart THAT fast, never mind getting him off the ticket, doesn’t he need to be rushed to a hospital?

I have less than no sympathy for my many friends who actually watch Scarborough’s show. Ethics Alarms has scored Tucker Carlson as a demagogue and a phony: compared to Joe Scarborough, Carlson’s a paragon of integrity. Scarborough gained fame in the Nineties as a young conservative Congressman who was part of the Newt Gingrich revolution. He signed the “Contract with America.” He advocated leaving the U.N. He wanted to stop public funding of PBS and NPR. He voted to impeach Bill Clinton. Then, suddenly, he quit politics to “spend more time with his children,” and was signed up by MSNBC before it had turned into a complete far left propaganda machine.

His pairing with vocal progressive Mika Brzezinski, the daughter of Jimmy Carter’s National Security Advisor, was advertised as a “point/counterpoint” teaming of a far left progressive and a champion of conservatism. In truth, Conservative Joe was sleeping with Progressive Mika, and as tends to happen in such unethical workplace situations, Joe’s conflict of interest was resolved on the cognitive dissonance scale by him adopting her passions. MSNBC didn’t care: it only wants far left commentary anyway.

I correctly assessed Scarborough as a two-faced, manipulative and untrustworthy fraud more than a decade ago, but his audacious lying about Biden’s mental acuity even surprised me. He has earned the position of poster boy for the whole mainstream news con that has been working for years to deceive the American public about Joe Biden and his corrupt, Orwellian party.

And journalists still have the utter gall to attack Donald Trump’s declaration that that the news media is “the enemy of the people.” Trump was, and is, 100% correct. Joe Scarborough shows why.

  1. Count me stunned. I assumed Joe would say Joe was as sharp as a tack on Thursday night and, as The Philadelphia Enquirer has proclaimed, “Trump should withdraw from the race for the good of the nation.”

    • He is a scoundrel. I find it more than a little unsettling how much he resembles John Wayne. He and wife number two are the epitome of “the cool kids” among the D.C. media. Pathetic. So much nepotism.

  2. It appears the DNC’s push to dump President Biden as the nominee has begun. The comments after the debate from the “Voice of the Democrats” (aka “The Press) have been almost universally negative, which means their audiences are now being conditioned to accept the President’s removal from the ticket…along with VP Harris.

I imagine next we’ll hear that “sources close to the President” are very concerned. It’s a progression and we’re now on the removal spectrum.

  3. Get a load of THIS:

SEN. RAPHAEL WARNOCK: I have spent time with Joe Biden, and I can tell you that not only does he have a tough mind, he has a tender heart. And that’s what you need in a president. Donald Trump has neither. He lacks both intellectual curiosity and emotional empathy.

He doesn’t think deeply about anything, and he’s not thinking about anybody other than himself. That is the binary choice in front of us. And again, with all due respect, I think that this exercise in fantasizing about a scenario that we don’t have is unhelpful.

We can ill afford to be distracted at a time like this. We have a man who has the competence and the character to lead this great nation and who loves this nation. We have another man who thinks he’s better than the nation. And it is our job to prove that America is better than Donald Trump.

The headline quoted Warnock saying, “Behind closed doors, Joe Biden is as sharp as ever,” or words to that effect. Guess they’ll just have to keep him behind closed doors. Kind of like Tony Perkins’ mom in “Psycho.”

      • Jim Clyburn says, “Ralph! Hold my beer!”

REP. JAMES CLYBURN: Take into account the record. Yes, it was a bad performance. I’ve been around these things. I’ve been a part of debate preparation before, and I know what I see what I call “preparation overload.” And that’s exactly what was going on the other night I saw Joe Biden grappling for words and phrases, and even numbers that he was loaded up with.

The next day, he gets to North Carolina, he’s freewheeling and he captivated the audience, and that’s what we should do. The debate preparation can be tough, but you’ve got to really do a good job of preparing the candidate not just with information, but with style, with deflection, and the kinds of things that we did not see in Joe Biden the other night and saw it four years ago.

Surprisingly, Dana Bash actually responded: “In North Carolina, didn’t he have a teleprompter?” But then went on to something else.

        These people are absolute stooges.
