I saw the NBC poll showing President Biden leading Trump by 3% in a six-way race over the weekend. I thought, “What the hell? This is proof positive that the U.S. public is too stupid to vote, and needs to be put under a conservatorship or something. Had the “Trump is Hitler! AHHHHHHH!” propaganda campaign by Biden, the Democrats and the news media really obliterated the natural implications of facts, like the fact that the President’s mind is falling apart in chunks, and that leaving him in office amounts to surrendering to a Soviet-style shadow collective? As it quickly turned out, no, the demonization campaign probably got Trump shot, but the public as a whole isn’t quite that hopeless.
Oopsie! The network issued a correction yesterday, citing “an error with the original polling documents.” The corrected network’s online article reported that Trump led Biden by 3% in a six-way race including Green Party candidate Jill Stein, Libertarian Party candidate Chase Oliver and independent candidates Robert F. Kennedy, Jr and Cornel West.
Public Opinion Strategies explained the botch in a Sunday evening post on X, saying, “The polling team extends its apology to @NBCNews and to all those who reviewed the filled in questionnaire of our most recent survey. We made an important mistake on the filled in released today. On the multi-candidate ballot, we flipped the numbers. President Biden is not ahead with 40% to 37% for former President Trump. In fact, Trump is ahead 40% to 37%.”
The mea culpa went on, “The correct data is reflected in the crosstabs and slides, but unfortunately these numbers were flipped in the topline document that the polling firms prepared for public release for NBC. We take full responsibility for a very significant error on our part. Deep apologies.”
Why would nobody in the polling company notice an error like that? The result showing that Biden had actually gained ground since he started speaking in tongues during the debate made no sense at all. Dozens of people must have seen it, but they all just shrugged, or maybe had a celebratory drink, and thought, “Well, THAT’S great news!” They didn’t question the erroneous numbers because they wanted them to be true.
The pollsters are overwhelmingly biased toward the Democrats. Can biased researchers who want a particular result be trusted or be objective, neutral and accurate?
Nope.

“Look! We did a poll based on a 100 way race with a few hypothetical candidates and finally we have Biden beating Trump 3% to 2%.”

I am waiting for the first post shooting polls to come out. I expect that Biden is going be even toaster than before. There may not be that many undecideds out there, but the number is not zero. As well, I would expect this event to cause some folks who had planned to sit this one out to come out to vote.
Pundits are saying that there will be a bump, but it probably won’t last. I disagree. No one anywhere is going to forget this event, not at least until Trump leaves the White House in 2029 (and he will leave office then, of course).
Probably get a small bump. We aren’t the same America that we were when Reagan was shot at and received a double digit upward change in support.
What the democrats, the left, and the corrupt media never mention is the significant support for Trump from those who won’t acknowledge their support, or their intention to vote for Trump. They prefer to keep their intentions private because they don’t want to endure the inevitable harassment from those who automatically get triggered over the discovery of a Trump supporter in their midst. The democrats are acutely aware of this large contingent, but they don’t know how large it is, and that worries them greatly. They’ll know on November 5th.
They won’t know. They’ve got a machine that will churn out votes and we’ll never really know how much of a voice the real resistance has compared to the Democrats.
this is 2020 in reverse, where Trump just could not seem to get out ahead of Biden in any major poll and the media buried anything that could help him. Now Trump is steadily ahead in all the major polls and Biden can’t seem to catch up, while the media not only can’t bury the latest story that helps him, a lot of the media has decided they don’t want to continue to be Democratic party cheerleaders and enablers.

They are just facing the same political realignment the rest of the parties are going through and they aren’t sure if they want to back the hyper radical faction of the DNC and go full socialist or back a replacement of Biden in the formerly “statesman-esque” old school faction of the party or another contingent.
