It Seems Increasingly Likely That Nobody Is Running the Government, the News Media Is Hiding It As Much As It Can, And the Public Is Too Dumb To Care. Nice.

What’s going on here?

Oh, nothing much: just

a) a demented President who has been forcibly removed from his party’s ticket despite already engaging in a Presidential debate and being voted onto that ticket by millions of Democrats,

b) a DEI VP who has never received a single vote from anyone to be President being summarily installed, Soviet-style, by a shadowy body of party leaders, some out of elected office (like Barack Obama), as the new candidate,

c) the anointed Presidential candidate and the actual President who was kicked to the metaphorical curb both making appearances and meeting with foreign officials like they were President when quite possibly neither is acting in that role, without

d) the news media showing the least curiosity about…

…and instead following DNC memos dictating that it keep emphasizing that the DEI VP didn’t do what she really did, hadn’t said what she really had, and is “exciting” while it concentrates on calling the Republican VP candidate “weird”—you know, like Harrison Butker-–and throttling him for what he blathered indelicately in a single interview seven years ago, as

e) the new sort-of half/joint/maybe co-President avoids even a single interview with a non-complicit interviewer to explain, oh, a whole lot of things, like whether she was a key participant in the years-long cover-up of the whatever-he-is-now previous Democratic candidate for President, what her actual policies were, are, and might be tomorrow, and what the public is to make of the giant mass of disturbing statements and speeches far more recent than seven years ago so it can, you know, know who they are voting for.

That’s all. And all of this completely engineered (or blundered into) by the party that laughably claims to be defending democracy.

If what I just described is democracy, I’m a Bactrian camel.

Then there’s this:

Oh. Wait, what? The administration–whatever that means now–announced that it had reached a deal with Khalid Shaikh Mohammad, Walid Muhammad Salih Mubarak Bin ‘Attash, and Mustafa Ahmed Adam al Hawsawi, three of the primary architects of the 9/11 attacks,  that took the death penalty off the table in exchange for the mass murderers agreeing to plead guilty to all charges. The deal avoided what some predicted would be an 12-18 month trial, with the very real “the possibility of the military judge throwing out confessions that were key to the government’s case.” (Ya think? With them being tortured and all?) Republicans pounced, though, and polling probably showed that most Americans were not happy with this result, despite being a legal necessity.  Besides, as long as the terrorists are freed after the election, why should the Biden/Harris whatever the hell it is care? All that matters is <cough>saving democracy.

Austin was not in the country when the team made the plea deal, the administration “explained,” as if that explains anything. If the plea deal was a surprise to him—these killers have been in federal custody for more than two decades!—then he’s a gross incompetent, which, based on previous evidence, he probably is. Moreover, this isn’t the 18th century: Austin does have ways of staying in touch with his staff and subordinates, and they with him.

Call me cynical, call me a walnut, call me Mr. Tibbs, call me late for dinner, but it sure looks to me like the nation’s policies now are being determined not according to responsible leadership and objective analysis, but based on what the DNC’s consultants think will get Kamala elected.

So are they running the country? Is that really okay with everybody? Does anybody care?

  1. The New York Post reported last week, “Who, really, is in charge at the White House? It sure doesn’t look to be President Biden.

“The latest evidence came last week when chief of staff Ron Klain delivered a behind-the-scenes message to Democratic allies and staff, just hours after Biden’s disastrous news conference: The prez had failed to mention that his next Build Back Better bill would fund child and elder care, but Klain insisted it would.

“As Axios reported, “Klain’s private comments are yet another indication the White House has a core set of priorities it plans to fight for” … even if the president doesn’t know about it fully yet.

“Klain’s real message: Don’t worry, we staff will make sure Biden does what we say.”

So, yes, your concerns are real and should be of concern to all Americans — but alas, we seem to be asleep in the midst of the turmoil.

  2. And yesterday, KJP was advising that the President and Vice President were completely uninvolved in this decision, as though the DOD was not under the authority of the Commander in Chief. Biden is still hoping to close Gitmo before the end of his term, and this is a step in that direction, damn the consequences, just like his withdrawal from Afghanistan.

  3. My guess is Anthony Blinken is running the executive branch. Or maybe Ron Klain. Or the two of them together. What a mess. And people are fine with it! I guess people really think the government is best run by faceless, allegedly expert, bureaucrats.

Someone is indeed running the government. But that someone is not and was never Biden, not even from day one of his “presidency”. Biden was installed precisely because he was a malleable stooge, nothing more. And Kamala is their next stooge, and they plan to get her elected by hiding as much as possible her the same as they hid Biden all through the campaign.

  5. The people running the government are typical liberal elite ruling class. They probably have Ivy League degrees, they don’t know how anything works, and they don’t care if anyone gets hurt or killed in their pursuit of their ideological war against traditional American values and the American middle class.

Did you know we have 2 astronauts trapped on the ISS for 2 months now with no way back? They won’t let SpaceX bring them back because Elon Musk won’t censor people on Twitter/X. Boeing can’t get their capsule fixed, but the engineers DO know how to dress in drag now because Boeing is now run by the same type of people that are running the White House.

  6. Question:

with only a few months remaining would a 25th amendment ploy cause more chaos and damage than simply leaving the current gawdawful crew in place? Would Kamala Harris then benefit from running as the incumbent?

I am so praying for a brand new Trump Presidency – one with more savvy, more experience, more determination, and with absolutely nothing to lose.
