End of an Awful Week Ethics Potpourri, 9/17/2025

How awful? Oh, awful for me personally, a I was sick for most of it and had a serious Missing My Dead Wife relapse; awful for ethics, as there were even more disgusting events than usual; awful for good taste, as Jimmy Kimmel was back on the air, where he is and has always been a toxic pollutant, and the Trump Administration’s ham-handed attempts at censorship turned the creep into some kind of First Amendment martyr—is that enough for you? It’s enough for me. Meanwhile…

1. Kash Patel fired all of the FBI agents who kneeled to honor George Floyd, or Black Lives Matter, or something. Ooooh, another freedom of speech controversy, and another opportunity to accuse the Trump Administration of being racist! Was this move necessary, fair and responsible, never mind legal? My verdict: unnecessary, fair and arguably responsible, as such conduct shows wretched judgment and possible anti-law enforcement bias, but as speech goes its rather vague to justify firing, don’t you think? Or is it just MAGA grandstanding?

2. Speaking of grandstanding, former child star and #MeToo activist Alyssa Milano decided to make a public spectacle of having her breast implants removed. The 52-year-old shared an Instagram photo of herself in a hospital gown, and explained why she’s undergoing the removal process. “Today I’m releasing those false narratives, the parts of me that were never actually parts of me,” she wrote “I’m letting go of the body that was sexualized, that was abused, that I believed was necessary for me to be attractive; to be loved; to be successful; to be happy.” Translation: “I haven’t worked in years, and the implants weren’t doing me any good, so my publicist thought I could get some interviews and podcasts by making a big deal out of getting rid of the things.” Is she also eschewing make-up, hair extensions, false eyelashes, tooth implants, botox and other parts of her that were never actually parts of her? Those implants did their job (they got her the role of “Long Island Lolita” Amy Fisher once upon a time), but now that they have outlived their usefulness, she’s kicking them on their way out. Seems mighty ungrateful to me! Aging, desperate celebrities and attention addicts are a tragic group….

3. One recent Trump Derangement freakout I saw on Facebook, this one by a tenured university history professor who is a longtime freind, is over Defense Secretary Hegseth’s decision to accept the conclusion of a special commission set up by the Biden Administration Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to review the Medals of Honor awarded to some U.S. soldiers involved in the 1890 massacre of Native Americans at Wounded Knee, South Dakota, now part of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. More than 300 Lakota Sioux men, women and children were killed by U.S. Army soldiers in the infamous attack. The commission came back with the conclusion that after a thorough investigation, the individuals who were awarded the medals earned them, so Austin just ignored the whole thing, typical of his entire four year tenure as DEI Defense Secretary. Having found the thing on his death and gathering dust, Secretary of War Hegseth went along with the commission that was appointed to resolve the matter, so now he’s being called a racist by Native American activists….and an incompetent by my TD history scholar friend.

I was surprised to learn that over 900 Medals of Honor have been revoked over the years. That seems akin to statue-toppling to me, except in cases where actual fraud was involved.

4. Now THAT’S a successful illegal immigrant! ICE arrested the Superintendent of Des Moines, Iowa Public Schools, Dr. Ian Andre Roberts, who an illegal alien from Guyana and an active ICE fugitive with a deportation order since May 2024. Roberts fled from ICE agents in his car, fleeing, then abandoning the car. An Iowa State Police K9 unit tracked him down. Agents found a loaded gun, a “fixed blade hunting knife”, and $3,000 cash in Dr. Robert’s vehicle. It seems that Roberts first entered the U.S. in 1999 on a F-1 student visa at St. John’s University and was ordered removed from the United States on May 22, 2024, with proceedings being held in absentia.  He apparently has a pending weapons charge against him. On April 24, 2025, an Immigration Judge in Dallas, TX denied a Motion to Reopen his immigration case. Before leading the district of around 30,000 students in Iowa, Roberts worked as an educator in four other states. Among his degrees are those from Georgetown and Harvard. He also competed for Guyana in track and field at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, and participated in World Championships in Japan and Spain, according to NBC News. His biography on the school district’s website says that “he was born to immigrant parents from Guyana, and spent most of his formative years in Brooklyn, NY.”

“Good Illegal Immigrant” stories to start in 10-9-8-7…

5. You think Serena Williams is a gratuitous race-baiter? You think Jimmy Kimmel irresponsibly stirs up discord and hate under the cloak of comedy? Black comic Leslie Jones says, “Hold my Beer!’ Here is a supposedly hilarious rant by Jones on “The Daily Show” this week:

Honestly, honestly, I don’t think museums go far enough. If you don’t leave an African American history museum weeping and wanting to give your closest black friends reparations, then they didn’t do the museum right. And let me say this, by the way, 40 acres and a mule is not enough anymore. I want 40 acres and a trust fund, how about that? Matter of fact, throw in the mule if you want to. I need something to carry my money…I just need to know, why does America have so much hatred for black people? Is it because when you see black people, you are reminded of the sins of this country? Is it because my ass is too fat? Is it because people need a scapegoat for their own shortcomings? Or is it because my ass is too fat?

Is it because you are afraid we are going to treat you like you treated us? And you know what? I know my ass is fat! Stop looking at my ass and listen to the words that are coming out my mouth!

I’m going to be honest, you know what I think? I honestly think everyone, not just white people, are uneducated. Not stupid. Just uneducated about black people. You’ve been fed false propaganda about black people since the beginning of time in books, music, TV, movies. That shit’s powerful. Even I fall for it sometimes. I saw X-Men and you know how long I believed Halle Berry controlled the weather? But apparently, it’s the Jews. Oh, wait, wait, is that propaganda too? Damn, y’all are good! You all are so good at that shit!

See, this is the stereotype that people have. A person talks a certain way, or looks a certain way and everyone wants to make assumptions. When we — when we just want to be treated like everybody else. What do you see when you see us? Do you see us less than human? Do you see us as animals? Why does this shit keep happening?

Why does what shit keep happening, Leslie? This shit?

Yeah, I know that’s a cheap shot. But she deserves it.

  1. These kinds of comedic (?) bits confuse career Lefties:

On one hand, it gooses their Gosh I’m Nice/I’m Dialed In/Look At Me Mascot Politics endorphins

On the other, those very same feelings give rise to monumentally suffocating Lefty guilt because…welp…just because.

    PWS

  2. When we — when we just want to be treated like everybody else.

So, which is it, 40 acres and a trust fund or be treated like everyone else?

Or — and I’m just spitballing here — all that happened far enough in the past that most modern-day Americans don’t have an emotional connection to it. Speaking of that, very few black people actually have an emotional connection to it. In fact, it has become nothing more than a convenient historical cudgel to justify grievances and violence against whites.

And you will never, ever, ever get reparations. The end. Affirmative Action and all the DEI you’ve reaped the benefit of in recent years is going to have to suffice.

I just need to know, why does America have so much hatred for black people? Is it because when you see black people, you are reminded of the sins of this country?

No. If whites hated you, they’d kill you. It’s that simple. Apparently, given the statistics, you hate yourselves waaaaay more than whites do.

And by the way, the sins of this country have led to massive change for the better in terms of discrimination, decades of DEI (Americans called it “affirmative action”), and overt DEI post-pandemic. And while all this was happening, the black community got worse in terms of single-parent families, violent crime among the young, gang violence, and petty crime.

See, this is the stereotype that people have. A person talks a certain way, or looks a certain way and everyone wants to make assumptions.

Self-awareness is not really a thing for you, is it Leslie? I know Leftists consider themselves entitled to being as hypocritical as they wanna be, but really?

What do you see when you see us?

I thought you didn’t want white people to think of you as a collective. Has that changed?

When we — when we just want to be treated like everybody else.

Ah. Reparations and all, huh? You don’t want to be treated like everyone else, you want white people to treat you as special. That actually happened for decades. Hopefully, that’s mostly over and you can get your wish.

    • As I’ve said many times, the continued failure to thrive of the black underclass has driven all sorts of experts and pundits crazy, including comics, I guess. Black guys can’t stay out of jail? Let ’em out. Black kids can’t pass tests, throw out the tests. Black guys can’t take care of their children and the mothers of those children? Give the mothers federal money. Black kids can’t get into Ivy League schools? Let ’em in so they can make the white people there better as they act as mascots and decor.

  4. 4. This one is right in my backyard. Given all the people in this country illegally – regardless of how they arrived – it’s highly likely Mr. Roberts won’t be the only example of someone in “high places” who isn’t a citizen. I bet this has happened many times elsewhere.

The administration placed Roberts on “paid leave” over the weekend, but announced this morning that he has been stripped of his education license. I don’t believe he’ll be teaching in Iowa again, but right now that might be the least of his concerns.

And yes, it’s amazing how far up the ladder he was able to climb…and stay there, even after the judge’s order last year.
