The Senator is wrong: that loss of trust is Fauci’s most positive legacy. Americans were foolish to place the trust they did into experts, scientists just being among the most unworthy. They are all human beings, they are corruptible, usually greedy and, as Paul notes, arrogant. We should never have trusted them with the blind confidence that Fauci demanded, just as we have learned—I hope—that we can’t trust journalists, educators, professors, historians, journalists (duh), lawyers, and, as I have recently learned to my sorrow, legal ethicists. Fauci was so blazingly confident in his scam that he gave the nation a lesson it should never forget.

I wish I could say will never forget.

Yesterday the frosting on this unethical cake was the revelations in Fauci’s diary. They included evidence that he knew that the Wuhan virus had probably not escaped from a “wet market” as he was telling the news media and others, that his assertions to the public were deliberately more certain-sounding than they were in fact, and he giddily reveled in his fame and popularity, as in this passage:

He bragged about being “mobbed by groupies” and humbly lamented that “millions” of people love him. The diary reveals Fauci as a small man drunk on power and influence.

In another entry, Fauci wrote about suffering a pulmonary infarction, which is one of the adverse events NIH, CDC, and FDA said were risks of the vaccine. Fauci had been vaccinated at a very public press conference, then five months later had the health event. It was covered up. His diary proves that he knew the risk of death from the Wuhan virus was about 0.2% in the general population, meaning it was even lower among the young and healthy; nevertheless he urged vaccinations for everyone, including infants.

Fauci wrote about how much the stock market dropped when he said that the pandemic was ten times more deadly than the flu. The same day he wrote another entry saying that he believed it was no more dangerous than the flu. He has denied that he was responsible for schools closing. His diary boasts…

HHS Secretary Robert Kennedy wrote, “He lied about masks. He lied about social distancing. He lied about transmission. He lied about natural immunity. He lied about the vaccine’s capacity to prevent infection.” All true. Here is another telling entry:

Trump was right. Not to be conspiratorial, but I wonder who those loving people were that Fauci cared about? The main beneficiaries of killing President Trump’s economy and getting a demented puppet into the White House, mayhap, with the help of the most corrupted election this century?

It was telling that Dr. Fauci began the hearing by saying that it “pains me” to invoke his constitutional right against self-incrimination. He accused Paul, who convened today’s hearing, of seeking to lay a so-called perjury trap. What utter B.S. It’s easy to avoid a “perjury trap”: tell the truth. Admittedly, Fauci has trouble in that department.

Fauci was pardoned by President Biden’s autopen, so he faces no legal consequences for his lies and other unconscionable conduct during the pandemic. He is apparently so terrified of the truth coming out that he prefers to risk a contempt of Congress charge. Democrats, meanwhile, again proved themselves shameless and complicit in Fauci’s machinations, incredibly praising Fauci as a hero despite the mountains of evidence proving his villainy and its terrible and lasting consequences. As Sen. Paul said in his opening statement,

“Children lost years of education, small businesses built over a lifetime disappeared, patients delayed cancer screenings and other medical care, families were separated from dying relatives, workers were ordered to accept a medical procedure or lose their jobs, worship assembly, employment, education, and travel were restricted in the name of science.”

Among the businesses killed by Fauci’s lies was mine; among the casualties of his lockdown was my wife. As I have said, however, I was on to Fauci long before the results of his actions started directly affecting me. As I wrote in April,

“…Ethics Alarms (and many commenters here) had taken the position that the lockdown of the schools and the economy was a near suicidal act made politically unavoidable by the teachers unions, the news media and the “experts” who were, like Fauci, asserting dire consequences as “science” when they were in fact only guesses or worse, deliberate lies to advance a partisan agenda. The mask nearly fell off when the same “experts” [who had] insisted that white people avoid groups larger than five declared that there was an exception for George Floyd mobs because, see, racism is a public health threat. It was, or should have been, so obvious what was going on, but Fauci played saintly doctor beautifully, bolstered by Axis propaganda…”

Well, the mask is finally off. And Lon Cheney can’t compete with the ugliness revealed beneath.
