Related to the baseball park naming issue: Did professional auto racing have the cars and drivers decked out with business logos from the very beginning, or was that a slow-creep, “camel in the tent” situation?
In 1955, it looks like the sponsors were the factories and the only logos were for the car company in the European racing, but American stock car racing had sponsors and logos from the start. Somewhere between 1965 and 1970, the European racers started getting other sponsors and logos.
Question; is this real or fake. Got the graphic from Althouse.
I asked Google about it and this is what AI came up with…
——–BEGINNING OF AI RESPONSE————–
The survey you are referring to is a real poll published on September 21, 2026, rather than a fake one. The poll was conducted by the progressive organization Center for Strategic Politics in partnership with the publication Liberal Currents. [1, 2]
It caused significant controversy and was widely reported by outlets like the New York Post and Yahoo News because of its provocative questions regarding hypothetical, extra-constitutional ways Donald Trump could leave office. [1, 2]
Key Findings of the Poll
The survey sampled 683 Democratic voters between September 3 and September 10, 2026. It asked respondents how they would react to five different scenarios where Trump left office early: [1, 2]
Military Overthrow:59% of respondents stated it would be “very positive” or “somewhat positive” if U.S. military leaders overthrew Trump to “safeguard the Constitution”. [1, 2]
Impeachment & Conviction:87% viewed legal removal via congressional impeachment and conviction positively. [1]
25th Amendment:84% supported removal by his cabinet through the 25th Amendment. [1]
Natural Causes:55% said they would feel positively if the president passed away peacefully in his sleep. [1]
Assassination:29% to 31% expressed a positive reaction to a hypothetical assassination, making it the only scenario that a majority opposed. [1, 2]
Why People Thought It Was Fake
There are two primary reasons this poll has been confused with misinformation or a hoax:
Provocative Subject Matter: The severe nature of the questions (asking voters about military coups and assassinations) led many social media users to initially assume the graphic and data were fabricated or satire. [1]
Recent Fake Polling Incidents: The poll dropped shortly after a highly publicized August 2026 scandal involving “Median Strategies,” a fake polling firm that admitted to fabricating political surveys in California and Wisconsin as a “social experiment”. This left the public highly skeptical of unusual polling results. [1, 2, 3]
However, the Center for Strategic Politics verified the data themselves, confirming that they intended to track how political polarization influences voters’ willingness to accept extreme political outcomes

It probably would’ve been better to ask which of the following scenarios Dems would prefer, and include “leaving after term expires” as on of the options. Asking how they’d feel after the fact doesn’t quite gauge how much they’d support actively pushing for any particular option.
If it is real, why would it be unethical? Are we supposed to hide the fact that one political party is so insane about gaining and keeping power that they are OK with a military coup to get it? Why should this be hidden? It is like the argument that we need to hide ‘controversial’ facts about racial or religious groups because if people knew the truth, they might view them unfavorably.
Michael asked, “If it is real, why would it be unethical?”
That’s a fair question, let me answer it this way…
Since I personally believe that it’s generally unethical to feel very positive about the death of another person, a military coup in the USA, or the assassination of the President of the USA; therefore, I think the poll is unethical because seems to me to be encouraging others to think unethically simply by asking the questions the way they did.
I don’t think it is unethical because if I am surrounded by murderous people, especially if I can identify said murderous people, I would like to know about it before I find out the hard way.
My wife asked me about the Democratic gubernatorial candidate this year. My wife said “She looks nice and she said she is just a ‘common-sense Democrat'”. It would be nice to know that “common sense Democrats” favor military coups to ‘protect Democracy’. I’m sure some Virginians would have liked to have known that ‘moderate Democrat’ meant abortion up to and maybe after birth, gun bans, open borders, and transing the kids in school.
” . . . one political party is so insane about gaining and keeping power . . .”
See, they don’t think they are acting fascistic and totalitarian. They think that Trump is such an existential threat to democracy, the U.S. way of life, and international peace and security, that Trump must be removed and any means of doing so is not only justified and justifiable but mandatory.
I’m not so sure that that graphic in its totality is real. I think it’s possible that the graph itself might be real but the added text at the bottom has red flags indicating to me that it was added. The text is different size and font and the math conclusion is obviously false to anyone paying attention to the details.
I was correct about the manipulation of the graphic, but the content was the same. Here is what appears to be the original post on X.
There appears to be many people (2900) who shared the X post; however, if you go to the Center for Strategic Politics on X (@StratPolitics) and search for this graphic, using every method of searching I know (I know a lot), it’s nowhere to be found and it’s still not listed on their website two days after it was posted on X. I suppose they could have hidden it from their X profile (I don’t know how to do that). Since it caused a lot of uproar after they posted it, they might have pulled it from their website.
Something about this whole thing pegs my skepticism meter. There’s just too many red flags for me to swallow this as statistical “fact” at this point. I need more evidence.
The survey itself is not unethical. It asks questions, nothing more. Those polled are (evidently) free to answer in any of 5 ways. What is published are those responses.
The people advocating assassination or Military coup as a solution to their problems are unethical, however. But don’t blame the guy asking the question, even when he suspected that he would get the answers he got.
The radical left has so well conditioned their party that Trump is truly another Hitler, they cannot help but express joy that he would be out of office by any means possible. From their standpoint it is an atrocity that conservatives support such an evil President. The poll and its results are not all that surprising.
Is it unethical? This graph tells a radical leftist that he/she would be supported by a vast majority of counterparts in assassinating Donald J. Trump. So, yes, unethical and dangerous.
Nikole Hannah-Jones (1619 project) now regrets her choice of enrolling her daughter into a public school in a poor black neighborhood. Her daughter was on the honor roll with straight A’s but still could not do basic arithmetic such as fractions and tail divisions.
She insists the New York public schools are still segregated. She describes conditions in her daughter’s school as terrible. Yet, my bet is that the teachers and the administrators in the school are in fact people of color who are using their inflated teacher’s salaries as a gravy train. And by the way, she says there isn’t enough money flowing into her daughter’s school, but the money spent on the school is fifty thousand dollars a year per student. Among the highest in the New York public schools and certainly much higher than the national average.
The problem she’s discovered arises from the fact that it’s the bad kids and bad teachers and administrators that get all the deference and the good kids suffer.
If they are segregated, there isn’t any white supremacy to worry about. It isn’t just the students that are segregated, it is the teachers, the principals and school boards too. There isn’t a single white person involved in that education.
MAID Horror Story Is Warning to America – Daily Signal -Jarrett Stepman• September 22, 2026
From the article that described how Canadian officials pushed an 83 year old cognitively impaired woman to agree to assisted suicide.
“A total of 16,499 people received MAID in Canada in 2024, according to Health Canada’s Sixth Annual Report on MAID, the latest report available,” The Post Millennial reported Monday. “In the US, 15,364 people were killed by a gun in 2024, per a report from the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions. The MAID total is 1,135 higher.”
MAID is medically assisted suicide or Medical Assistance In Dying.
That is the outcome of the Canadian health system as it seeks to lower medical expenditures. Perhaps Center for Strategic Politics in partnership with the publication Liberal Currents should poll Americans about how they feel about government run health care that needs this strategy to be economically viable.
Our Canadian friends should not comment on our Second Amendment. That amendment may be the thing that keeps the MAID bureaucrats at bay.
A total of 16,499 people received MAID in Canada in 2024
With all of the policies dampening Canada’s economic growth, this MAID practice will contribute positively to reducing their housing crisis without cutting down trees and building new – carbon footprint, organ donation, almost everybody wins.
From a proportionate standpoint, the MAID death rate is very roughly ten times higher than America’s gun death rate.
Canadians argue that the 15,364 gun deaths are not volitional, while the MAID deaths supposedly are. They also argue that people who are in constant, horrible pain should not be forced to live a life of agony. But in 2027 depression will be added to the list of qualifying conditions.
And they said the slope wasn’t slippery …
Does anyone really want medical providers and the government to be executing end-of-life policies?
I suppose being in constant agony could be used as a rationale but only if there was a truly objective means to measure pain. I don’t think the smiley face to frowny faced pictographs are adequate to make such assessment especially when someone is in emotional distress. What would that threshold be for everyone or do people simply choose it for themselves? What happens when third parties decide what your pain threshold has reached that mandates MAID. I have had veterinarians tell me an animal should be put down because it had painful arthritis but the cat demonstrated a will to live. Rationalizations abound when third parties decide when life should be extinguished.
MAID is so they don’t have to spend money on their healthcare system. Oh, you were paralyzed serving in our armed forces and you have waited 5 years to get a chairlift? Oh, poor thing. We will send someone right now to ‘end your suffering’. I wish that was a hypothetical case.
They also ‘medically terminated’ a woman who insisted that she didn’t want it right up to the point that they killed her. The after incident review clearly stated that this wasn’t an emergency in any respect and could have waited until morning where she could have filed an appeal to the doctor’s determination of MAID. Yes, a woman who never asked for MAID, said she didn’t want MAID, and asked to appeal the MAID determination was killed on the spot. The only thing that happened is that the government said that they would ‘do better’ next time.
When the government is the sole provider of medical care, you will get all the medical care you ‘need’.

MONEY QUOTE, 2.0: “The POVERTY RATEFELL to 10.2% in 2025, the LOWEST LEVEL IN THE CENSUS BUREAU’S HISTORICAL SERIES, marking the SECOND CONSECUTIVE ANNUAL DROP. That left about 34.5 million people below the poverty line — down from 35.9 million in 2024, roughly 1.4 million fewer people in poverty in a single year. CHILD POVERTY FELL TO A HISTORIC LOW of 13.4%, and HISPANIC POVERTY DROPPED TO A RECORD LOW of 13.9%.”
So…why must we search high-n-low to read about this…?
Your comment reminds me of my “The Sky Isn’t Falling” blog post regarding my observation of the economy while on vacation and some of the reactions I got to it on Nextdoor.
We recently bought a new washer and dryer from Lowe’s and they came in separate deliveries, the washer on 9/6 and the dryer on 9/22 (yesterday). There were two men for each delivery and installation but for both deliveries the men did not speak fluent English. One in each group spoke fair English and the other didn’t seem to understand much English at all. All the men were clean cut and dressed in nice blue uniforms and very polite and did the installations very professionally. (Aside: They were very professional looking compared to my last doctor visit where both nurses had multi colored hair, tattoos and nose rings.)
It’s hard for me to believe that Lowe’s would hire illegal immigrants but it makes you wonder when the delivery people don’t speak fluent English. Again, one in each group spoke fair English.
The other problem I have is with the “survey” they send out after installs. Before they email you the survey, you get an earlier email telling you that marks below “10” or “5” or whatever corresponds to the highest rating are bad for them. Car dealers have been doing this also. What is the purpose of a damn survey if they tell you to give them all good marks. It seemed to start with car dealers (at least for me) and now has spread to other survey requests. It’s not a true survey if you are told to give all excellent marks and if you cannot come to them first.
Back to the delivery teams – don’t regular American citizens want these types of jobs? They seem like an okay job to me if I was out of work. They have all the modern equipment for lifting, etc. It’s just hard for me to believe these delivery teams are “legal” residents. Sure, they don’t have to be citizens of the US to be legal but it seems strange to me.
No idea on the citizenship status, but they could easily be here on a visa. They could also just not want to talk and pretend to not understand you. I’ve seen that happen. I have had many crews in the construction industry when we built our house and they were the same. One spoke fluently and the crew didn’t. We had a group of Ukrainians install floors, but the rest spoke Spanish ( not unusual at all here) that said… I don’t think US citizens want to work. I hear it over and over again “nobody wants to work” my old boss said “every one wants a good job, but nobody wants to work.” The other problem is the way people are hired who do want to work. My daughter was trying to get a job in a store stocking shelves and they wanted her to have 3+ years experience. To stock shelves? Really? How do you get entry level jobs when they want you to have 3-5 years experience? It’s weird. She thought she had a job- more than once- they said “you’re hired” and she never got a “be at work today” communication, never was sent forms or contacted again, very poor management, in my opinion and that this happened more than once is alarming. My oldest works for DOT, I’m actually quite annoyed at them for not providing portable bathrooms where she works. It’s been 100 degrees all summer and she won’t stay hydrated since there’s no place to go. Just because it’s a state agency shouldn’t mean they’re exempt, but they seem to be.
It seems that everyone and his dog send out surveys these days. Even the post office wants you to take a survey if you come into their office.
My company does it and it you don’t give me a 5 on the key question (how likely are you to return), then I have failed. As a matter of self defense, we don’t shy away from telling out clients that if they can’t give us a 5, just don’t do the survey.
No, they probably aren’t legal. Most of the delivery teams and install people from our Lowe’s stores are independent and contract to Lowe’s.
Yes, Americans want these jobs, but the company can pay illegal workers below minimum wage and don’t have to pay benefits. Illegal immigration is supported because it suppresses wages. The beneficiaries of illegal immigration are business owners who pay below legal rates and without benefits and wealthy individuals who can get cheaper lawncare, cleaning, and nannies.
I love the ‘sob story’ pieces where the news goes through a factory and the owner complains that he will have to fire 2/3 of his workers if they get rid of the illegal aliens. Under Biden, we were bringing in Haitians and the federal government was ‘subsidizing’ the workers pay and paying for their ‘benefits’ to the staffing agency that provided them. I’m SURE that those subsidies DEFINITELY went to the workers and not the staffing agency owners. Yes, we paid taxes to throw American workers out of jobs and subsidize foreign workers.
This happened about a year ago. Sufficient distance has lessened the emotional impact. Names have been changed to protect the innocent and the guilty.
On her first day of kindergarden, the little girl who would grow into my Trump-deranged sister walked into the classroom, saw another little girl crying because she missed home and immediately befriended her. My sister and Jolene were best friends for almost 50 years.
Over the years, they attended each other’s milestone events, spent Super Bowl Sunday evenings, Girls’ Nights Out and New Year’s Eve together. Their children grew up together, attending each other’s birthday parties and sleepovers. This friend group became large and closeknit.
Their kids are grown now (late 20s) and didn’t become as close to each other as the mothers were. But they all knew each other and they especially all knew Jolene’s mother.
Jolene’s mother was a substitute teacher in our school district. She taught in many of our classrooms. So, not only did my family know her because she was our sister’s best friend’s mother, but also because she was a fixture in our school. A wonderfully kind woman, full of joy and love. She suffered a stroke many years ago that had the unfortunate result of aiding the onset of dementia. She died last year.
Her funeral was a week later. I hadn’t associated with the family for years, though I’d seen them occasionally at my niece or nephew’s birthday party here and there. But this was someone I had known, someone whose children I had grown up with and someone who was important to my sister.
I arrived at the funeral home and quickly spotted my sister, her former husband and their daughter. I touched bases with them before finding Jolene and her sister Sophie to give my condolences. Absolutely nothing seemed out of the ordinary beyond a brief remark from my niece that she wasn’t happy with Sophie. I thought nothing of it, as my sister had often said that Sophie was always in need of validation. I assumed she had become overbearing in the wake of her loss. I encouraged my niece to show her grace in this difficult time.
My sister and niece had the requisite red eyes and runny noses. Nothing wrong about that. The funeral went well. I embraced everyone, said my good-byes and left.
The next evening, my siblings and I were on our weekly Zoom call when my sister informed the rest of us of an incident that had occurred moments before my arrival. My nephew had shown up, dressed nicely and prepared to join his parents and sister to grieve the loss of this kind woman he had loved, too.
Before he could go further, he was stopped by the officiant who told him that the “family has requested that [he] be asked to leave”. No explanation was given.
Though Jolene and Sophie were asked by my sister and niece what was wrong, they were given only a vague answer that Jolene’s adult children were “uncomfortable” with my nephew being there. My nephew has not seen Jolene’s children in seven or eight years. He is completely clueless as to what happened.
My sister was devastated. She said that her son went to his car and wept, not knowing or understanding what he’d done wrong. He told the rest of the family to attend the funeral and not make it about him. My sister expressed to us her guilt at not walking out of the funeral, her anger at getting no reasonable answer and her criticism of Jolene’s children who have been full of “drama” since they were young, still live at home without working and who sat in the back of the room during their grandmother’s funeral, barely engaged. She didn’t blame the officiant, of course. He was just doing his job.
My niece and nephew unfriended the entire family on social media. My sister has done the same because she cannot resume a friendship with them after this. She recognized that this was a funeral, that her friend was grieving and that avoiding drama with her kids on such a day was probably important, but she doesn’t understand why her son was barred from a funeral with no warning.
At the time, I encouraged my sister not to make a hasty decision. Grieving people don’t always make wise choices and, if Jolene’s kids are as drama prone as she claims, Jolene may have taken the path of least resistance. I do agree that Jolene owes a better explanation, but it may not have been possible to give one at her mother’s funeral.
A couple of weeks later, my sister received a letter from Jolene, apologizing about the way it happened, communicating claims against my nephew that her children had made (which were not detailed to me) that my sister insists are completely false and explaining that she understood if the friendship was affected by this. They have not communicated since.
If it had been your loved one who’d been treated this way, would you have left and not attended the funeral?
I suspect I was not told about the incident while at the funeral – despite it having been within minutes of my arrival – to not create additional drama. I don’t know what I would have done if they’d told me. Perhaps, I might have gone to comfort my nephew and taken him to the McDonald’s next door for lunch.
One would think that, if Jolene’s children had a problem with my nephew, they would have expressed it sooner so that she might have warned my sister in advance that my nephew should stay away. If Jolene knew there was an issue and didn’t discuss it with my sister ahead of time, should that have an impact on continuing the relationship?
Since I do not know what claims were made against my nephew, I cannot speak to the truth of them. I know him better than Jolene’s kids, though. But, of course, I am biased toward him.
I’m sorry this happened. It is frustrating when the funeral becomes about drama instead of remembering a friend. People’s true colors show after death and I continue to be surprised by it.
I’m wondering if anyone else is appalled that the city of Dearborn, Michigan is facing a Federal lawsuit for spending thousands of taxpayer dollars on Muslim holiday decorations, but will not acknowledge Jewish and Christian Holy Days. The Muslim mayor of the city accused a Christian minister of bigotry and Islamophobia for raising the issue at a council meeting, telling him on the record that he is not welcome in the city.
Years ago when there was an influx of Middle Eastern immigrants to America I thought people in opposition were unkind, prejudiced. I was wrong. We were suckers. Immigrants who do not arrive on our shores to become part of the American melting pot do not belong here. I am unaware of a legal way to send them packing.
And on the opposite spectrum, Italian Prime Minister Meloni is proposing a cap on the number of non-Italian children in individual classrooms so that Italian children don’t feel marginalized. Her proposal would also prevent face-coverings in schools and require Italian language classes for immigrants.
“For us, anyone who comes to Italy and wants to build their future here must learn our language, understand our culture, and respect our rules,” Meloni said, The Associated Press reported. “It is the only serious way to welcome them.”
Judge Judy has recently said something similar. She doesn’t think people should come into her home and decide the decor needs to be changed to their liking. If people don’t like the United States, they can go somewhere else.
Oh, it is worse than that. That area used to have a large Christian Arab community. They called themselves Chaldeans. They had been driven out of their ancestral homes in Lebanon, etc by the Muslim invasion. Then, we settled a bunch of Muslims there and they were driven out again.
Her tweet got widespread coverage. Whatever side you come down on the appropriateness of her dress, the wise choice is NOT to put the judge in a case she’s on onto public blast. If I was her client, I’d drop her for being stupid.
She’s a fool, and she should be fired. I had an ethics client who asked me if it would be unethical to dress more provocatively for a male judge who obviously lusted after her. I told her absolutely not—go for it. The same judge had told her that she her court outfits didn’t do justice to her…assets. (That lawyer could have dressed in a sack and looked good…)
Is there a dress code for appearing in court? The dress is neither too short nor too revealing. The judge is either applying 40-year-old standards, or she is jealous of the beautiful attorney. I would not want her on my case.
In other coverage of this story it is revealed that the bar is not doing well financially, so the owners were just trying to remove disincentives for new patrons. How stupid has this been, really? To create a hurdle for socializing in a bar on Saturday night? Boston is a hub of pride culture, so how is it that a lesbian bar is failing? Idiots, all the way round.
So we have talked about mail in voting more than once on this blog, and I wanted to share my recent experience with it. This is in North Carolina, so other states may have different rules.
My sister is disabled — she has ALS and cannot stand or walk, and is bedridden. We’re taking care of her at home, but getting her in the wheelchair and then, especially, in the mobility van is a major undertaking. So I thought I would explore her options for mail in voting.
I was able to request the ballot online without much of a problem, having to attest that I was a close relative and requesting the ballot for her because of her disability.
Once we got the ballot, she instructed me on who and what to vote for, and I marked the ballot accordingly (even though she was voting for all the wrong people. 🙂 ).
There was a form to fill out, with two witnesses required to sign (or a notary public). I had a separate section to sign attesting that I filled out the ballot and signed for her because of her disability, and that I was following her instructions. Toss in a copy of her state ID, and her ballot was ready to be submitted. Rather than mailing it, my other sister submitted it to the early voting people as she was allowed to do, and we’re all set.
————————-
So everything went smoothly, and the procedures in place seemed reasonable and fairly adequate to me. Of course, I am certain that the Democrats refer to these procedures as Jim Crow 2.0. I noticed that Georgia suppressed the hell out of the black vote in the last election, with record high turnouts……
Honest folks will follow these procedures without problems as long as they simply follow the instructions. However, I can also see how scoundrels could take advantage of the system. It’s simply not possible to build in enough safeguards to totally prevent cheating, if one is unscrupulous. Like, for instance, harvesting votes from a memory care institution where the patients may not know who they are or who their spouse is.
I think North Carolina has some procedures in place to prevent such ballot harvesting, and I hope they’re mostly effective.
—————————
Up until recently I’ve always voted on election day, and I still think that’s a good idea. However, I am more recently open to in person early voting and have done so a couple times.
I also believe that North Carolina has a good, efficient method of tallying the votes, and almost every race can be called on Election Evening.

Gamereg,
Thanks for that Liberal Currents link, that is exactly what I was trying to find for proof.
It is real. The USA is cooked if the Dems ever get back in power.
It is worse than that. The data presented shows that 72% of Democrats would be OK with a military coup.
If it is real, why would it be unethical? Are we supposed to hide the fact that one political party is so insane about gaining and keeping power that they are OK with a military coup to get it?

“We need a military coup to save democracyTM from elections we don’t like!”
I’m not so sure that that graphic in its totality is real. I think it’s possible that the graph itself might be real but the added text at the bottom has red flags indicating to me that it was added. The text is different size and font and the math conclusion is obviously false to anyone paying attention to the details.
I need more evidence to swallow this one.
I did find this graphic on X but it sill doesn’t exist on their website. I posted this as a reply to the graphic…
I dug into this as much as I could this morning.
She rejected privilege on the one thing that really mattered – her daughter’s education. If this is not an argument for school choice, what is?
Having raised a daughter ourselves, I’m a little sympathetic to Jones’ plight. But I still think her piece warrants her getting a Nelson.

MONEY QUOTE: “WOMEN’S EARNINGS are now HIGHER THAN EVER, and the WAGE GAP between men and women is now LOWER THAN AT ANY TIME IN HISTORY.”
MONEY QUOTE, 2.0: “The POVERTY RATE FELL to 10.2% in 2025, the LOWEST LEVEL IN THE CENSUS BUREAU’S HISTORICAL SERIES, marking the SECOND CONSECUTIVE ANNUAL DROP.

IMO, neighborsnextdoor (THEY Report/YOU Decide!) caters to a decidedly Phuque-Witted “My Mind’s Made Up” demographic.

Funeral Ethics: The Unwelcome Mourner
At times I wonder what my life would have been like if I had stayed where I grew up.
Bravo!
Anyone else catch the kerfuffle over this lawyer’s outfit?
https://x.com/MMedinanews/status/2102129496916656380
I just have to know…have we gone mad?
https://notthebee.com/article/boston-lesbians-fiercely-divided-after-gay-bar-drops-mask-mandate-in-2026
Dropping a mask mandate in 2026 shouldn’t be this hard, but when you involve Lesbians, the Blind and Clown College…
