Meet Jaime West, a Democrat running for Fayette County Council in Indiana.
I am not at all sure this is the “most embarrassing clip” from a Democratic candidate interview, but her smug demeanor does make West a contender for Dunning-Kruger victim of the decade.
Professional kudos to the interviewer for not dissolving into giggles.
I for one think American politics would improve if more candidates showed up to interviews unabashedly four sheets to the wind.

Having posted that I forgot to mention that the longer she talks the worse it gets.
Her first 20 seconds is plenty of evidence that my sock drawer will never be organized enough to justify taking the time to watch the whole thing. “Heavily edited” only matters if there is a possible context missing that would justifiably change the impression the segments alone create. There isn’t. A single clip of Biden’s whole “Look, we finally beat Medicare” gibberish isn’t misleading. This is where signature significance comes in. Saying that single rambling sentence once on TV in a Presidential debate proves something was seriously wrong even if the rest of his debate was Lincoln’s 2nd Inaugural Address.
My comment wasn’t a criticism or objection to the posted video, just informational. I did acknowledge that the posted video was accurate with regard to her actually spouting that nonsense.

I just watched her entire interview, holy shit! She must have been the only Democrat to step up and run for this office.
I had the same thought. She’s running against Gary R. Keener, Jr. and I’d be more than surprised if she won. Especially after the, “We have guns too” as her last words to the voters.
Thank God she isn’t running unopposed!
Here is a scary thought; what if she really is the best candidate.
Maybe not alcohol. Maybe something ending in “pam”. Probably over the prescribed dosage, though.
I wonder if the number of people in Fayette County, IN who use Instacart (or whatever her gig platform is) dropped after this interview.

Is it just my imagination or is this election cycle overrun with terrible candidates? Over 350 million people from whom to choose and we have Jaime West, James Talarico, El Sayed and a host of others who are absolute idiots and/or assholes.
I do know the answer to this …. smart, capable, wise people do not want the anal probe that we call campaigning.
We just might be doomed.
