Friday Open Forum, “But It Feels Like Sunday” Edition

I apologize: I didn’t focus on the fact that this was Friday until just now. Even at ProEthics, which never rests or takes a vacation, it has been so quiet that I was lulled into weekend mode. All the l-tryptophan didn’t help either. But there is still time to…

Ethics away!

(Ugh. I hate that fad Madison Avenue use of nouns, as in “Let’s movie!” I had to try it once to be sure just how much I hated it. Sorry.)

Friday Open Forum!

open foru

Since the vote counting has taken ridiculously long, this is truly the past-2022 election open forum. (The earlier we—foolishly—allow people to vote, the longer it seems to take to get the results.) And there is a lot more ethics out there to discuss.

As always.

Pre-End Of Democracy Election Open Forum!

Late start today; just got back home after a 2.5 hour drive from Charlottesville (where there a lot of fine people) after an early morning ethics CLE presentation for the Virginia Bar.

I’ll catch up…meanwhile, it’s up to you.

It’s A Late Open Forum!

Sorry…it’s been a madhouse at ProEthics. Thanks to Michael West for politely reminding me what day it is.

This is about the time that visitors to Ethics Alarms start getting scarce for the weekend. I’m curious to see what a tardy Open Forum brings…

Open Forum, Rebound Edition

The Open Forum has been a dud so far in September 2022…why is that? Quality, of course, always quality, but participation is way, way down from past months.

Or, it could be a hopeful sign that all of the ethics problems in our culture and society are being resolved!

Yeah, that’s the ticket…

Catch-Up Open Forum!

Maybe you noticed: I wasn’t around much yesterday, though I see that there were some epic comments. A legal expert report draft required my attention from about 6:30 am to 1:30 am, with only breaks for bodily necessities and Spuds. I did stumble on a great and interesting legal ethics story from my files that is worth a post today, but otherwise, I have some catching up to do.

Unfortunately, I am also blotto and exhausted. You can help me ease back into the saddle (that ethics story involves cowboys) by pouncing on today’s Open Forum, and letting me know what’s going on in the outside world…

It’s Open Forum Friday!

As always, you get to decide what ethics matters to raise, analyze and discuss. I am hoping someone delves into the many ethics implications, abstract, direct and otherwise of the now-ended reign of Queen Elizabeth II, especially since I have less than my usual control over my schedule today, and am unlikely to be able to examine this myself.

It’s been a bit of a dead week here traffic-wise, as the week after Labor Day usually is, and yet we have seen some superb comments and debates on many topics.

Keep up the good work!
