If The Ethics Alarm Post About The I.R.S. Swearing That Lois Lerner’s Subpoenaed Emails Had Been Lost Forever Mated With The Story About The Obama Administration Dumping Documents So That The Media And Public Wouldn’t Notice, THIS Would Be The Ugly Offspring

That's some ugly baby.

That’s some ugly baby.

News Item:

Up to 30,000 missing emails sent by former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner have been recovered by the IRS inspector general, five months after they were deemed lost forever. The U.S. Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) informed congressional staffers from several committees on Friday that the emails were found among hundreds of “disaster recovery tapes” that were used to back up the IRS email system.

The announcement of the existence of the potentially incriminating emails—-that I.R.S. officials kept swearing were lost, a statement that every computer expert asked about it said was ridiculous—-was made, and the emails turned over, Friday afternoon, while everyone was freaking out over the President’s immigration order and the impending Ferguson grand jury decision. It also occurred well after the recent election, so if the communications do prove a coordinated effort within the Obama administration to illegally sabotage conservative groups prior to the 2012 election, there will be no electoral consequences to Democrats, and, as we all know, stupid voters can’t remember things like this for another two years.

Bazinga.

You’re right, I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.

The proud parents of this mongrel story can be review here ( “If a private company “lost” key  and potentially incriminating evidence like this, indictments would follow. (RIP: Arthur Andersen) Recall, please, that Lerner pleaded the Fifth Amendment to avoid self-incrimination—her right, but hardly cooperative or comforting. This news is even less so.”) and here (“Look up “appearance of impropriety,” and a picture of this document dump is under the entry. OK, not really, but it would be appropriate.”)

Your assignment for tomorrow: see how many news sources take note of the sudden appearance of the emails.

  1. It’s on my Yahoo home page this morning. On the other hand:

abcnews.com has an article about starting Black Friday shopping right now!
nbcnews.com features the secret life of an Obama clone (apparently someone who looks like the President)!
cbsnews.com has a cute story about teaching kids the meaning of country music lyrics!
msnbc.com put up a story about a petition to cancel the show about the family with 19 kids because people don’t like the conservative, ultra-religious stance on gays! BTW, it also features an interview with Hillary Clinton praising the Illegal Immigration Executive Action as well as another piece on how few flaws were found in the Benghazi report.
New on cnn.com: a black widow in Japan has five dead lovers! Also Best Buy is threatening to bury Amazon!

I did, however, find it on foxnews.com.

All results were as of 7:40 this morning.

    Very sad.

      • A stopped clock is right twice a day.

The problem is that Faux news is unreliable. They tell porkies. Yes, they are obviously biased Right.

The bigger problem is that the other channels are very obviously covering up. That’s not just one channel, but all, indicating a cultural issue in MSM. Having one channel biased the other way, routinely telling fibs is not a remedy, it makes things worse.

I can live with a channel biased Left or Right in editorials, as long as a) They don’t deliberately lie and b) They don’t deliberately omit inconvenient news.

I can live with one or two channels that violate those rules, as long a there are a substantial proportion that obey them.

        That’s not the situation though..

  2. I have an older sister who is firmly in the clutches of the left wing. This began when she was dating Chris Dodd in the late 80’s. After 9/11, I wrote a paper that was somewhat critical of Bush’s Patriot Act , the shift in focus of FISA, and the potential of abuse in the issuance of National Security Letters. Apparently, it read like left-wing porn, because she and her husband, Dodd’s personal aid, now the CFO of Mohegan Sun, believed it could be published by a national magazine, the name of which I’ve since forgotten. She encouraged me to do some political research, starting with fact check.org, if I remember correctly. She went on to say to ignore Fox News, because they were so obviously biased. She said “the government ought to shut down Fox, at least until they endorse reinstating the Fairness Doctrine.” This left me absolutely stunned, especially since I (naively) thought that she was impressed by my criticism of actions roughly analogous to what she just proposed. Apparently, she thought I was choosing sides. Sadly, her outspoken allegiance to the left caused her to alienate herself from me, my 4 other siblings, and my parents when we refused to join Team Obama.

  3. I really didn’t need to start off my Monday with that baby shot of Mr. Bean! As for the subject, I’ve discovered that the Obama administration is one of those set-ups where you simply assume that their words are lies and you take it from there. I rather doubt that discovery is unique to myself!

    • Absolutely not unique to you. The liberals, and, hence, Democrats, default position is to lie, even when the truth would serve them better.

  4. Hmm… I just suggested on the immigration order post that it may have been done in part to attract criticism away from other topics. Guess there’s another one on the list…

  5. I just looked at the story, with Lois Lerner’s picture in it. Actually, Lerner probably could give birth to a baby like that by herself.
