Said President Joe Biden from his “bully pulpit” last week:
“What I’m worried about is how un-American this whole initiative is. It’s sick. It’s sick,” Biden said. “Deciding that you’re going to end voting at five o’clock when working people are just getting off work!”
Unconscionable! Outrageous! Except that it’s not true. AND it took the news media almost a week to notice. Good job there, Jimmy Olsen! Wouldn’t that have been a good topic for a question at Biden’s first news conference?
When the Washington Post “factchecker” is moved to give a Democratic President “Four Pinocchios,” you know he really must have lied his fool head off. Wrote Glenn Kessler yesterday,
On Election Day in Georgia, polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and if you are in line by 7 p.m., you are allowed to cast your ballot. Nothing in the new law changes those rules.However, the law did make some changes to early voting. But experts say the net effect was to expand the opportunities to vote for most Georgians, not limit them.
That’s sick! It’s…wait, no actually there’s nothing wrong with that, is there?
“One could understand a flub in a news conference,” Kessler writes. “But then this same claim popped up in an official presidential statement. Not a single expert we consulted who has studied the law understood why Biden made this claim, as this was the section of law that expanded early voting for many Georgians. Somehow Biden managed to turn that expansion into a restriction aimed at working people, calling it ‘among the outrageous parts’ of the law. There’s no evidence that is the case.”
He also tells us, “We sought an explanation from the White House for the reason for Biden’s remarks but did not receive an on-the-record response.”
President Trump earned a four-year pummeling as a “habitual liar” for such routine misrepresentations as over-rating his crowd at his inauguration. Virtually all of his “lies” were inconsequential except to his own credibility. This public statement of a false fact by Biden, like Barack Obama’s infamous false promise about the Affordable Care Act, is consequential disinformation, and, as usual, one given a racial spin for good measure.
“What’s going on here?,” as the starting point for Ethics Alarms analysis is usually marked?

Gee, Glenn, could it possibly have been that the President thought he could get away with the lie, because his allies in the media would be slow to point it out, if at all? “The Factchecker” quotes an “expert” who theorizes that “Biden may have been briefed on an early version of the bill — ‘there were 25 versions floating around’ — and he did not get an update on the final version.”
Oh! That’s encouraging. The President’s handlers/ventriloquists let the President go on the air and accuse the Republicans of being “sick” and “un-American” based on false information.
Let’s have a show of hands: Will the White House correct this blatant falsehood? If not, then we’ll know what was going on: a deliberate effort to misinform the public.
Ethics Alarms 
And, when they eventually get around to pressuring him to resign or force him out via the 25th Amendment, they’ll claim all of these mistakes and flubs were the result of his obvious cognitive decline and not due to deliberate misrepresentation in order to defame his opponents.
I’m sure it was just a gaffe, most likely because of his stutter. Absolutely no possibility he intended to misinform the public, or continue to drive the myth that all Republicans are alt-right wackos with no redeeming qualities. Come on, man! Just a stuttering problem.
The White House won’t. They’ll just tell the media to move on, already, and the media will swallow it hook, line, and sinker. Meanwhile, conservative media and alternative media will be silenced and deplatformed. What you are seeing here is a relatively bloodless Bolshevik revolution, where this country is changing so quickly that you almost won’t know it’s started before it’s over.
Biden was just reading what his handers put on the teleprompter. He has no personal knowledge about the Georgia law, or anything else for that matter. Of course the intent was to misinform the public, with the aid of their media allies.
GWB and Obama read teleprompters too, but at least they both knew and understood what they were reading. I question whether Biden does. When the American people get angry they can sometimes be their own worst enemy. They were their own worst enemy in 1976 when they elected the well-meaning but out of his depth Jimmy Carter because they were pissed at Ford for pardoning Nixon, in 1992 when they elected the ethicsless Bill Clinton because they were mad at Bush the elder for the slumping economy, and this time out, when they allowed themselves to fall for a bait and switch because of ginned up anger at Trump, that promised a moderate by gave them a senile puppet for far leftism.
I don’t know a single person who voted for Biden who was misled. They all knew he was a senile puppet and that is what they wanted. They wanted rule by the Deep State, the ruling class, the elite, whatever you want to call them. They weren’t gullible fools, they are totalitarians and elitists. Deep down, their hatred of Trump is that he was President and NOT a puppet.

I have come to the conclusion that most of Biden’s support came from those who will be direct beneficiaries of the Biden’s ability to tap the U.S. treasury.

Obviously minority groups will stand to benefit but the real beneficiaries of big government are the workers and the contractors whose livelihoods are predicated on increasing government spending. The non-permanent workforce is just as dependent on expanding government as the permanent FT federal employee; they just get paid less. No contract, no job. Perhaps we need to do away with the stereotypical welfare queen and create a more appropriate image of a suckling federal employee.
This is not to say that all federal employees are unproductive or even progressive leftists but it does shed light on why a “deep state” might exist and why its members could behave in a manner contrary to the public good when their own economic well being is at risk. You cannot avoid the ethical issues of conflict of interest as a public employee when it comes to being paid by tax dollars. Who among them would advocate for the elimination of their own department because they know it is unnecessary? Even highly effective departments will seek out new groups to serve when they eliminate the problem they were tasked to address. I favor sunset laws on every department forcing them to demonstrate why they remain needed at a given level.
The fundamental objective of cancel culture is to silence people or command them to repeat the preferred narrative. By threatening to ruin people if they do not acquiesce they can achieve their result. If a threat to the economic wellbeing of the group emerges the group seeks to eliminate or at least marginalize the threat. That is what I believe happened to Trump. Far too many people stood to lose economically by limiting the influx of cheap labor and/or new clients for the public agency. Even the Generals in the military, which was being rebuilt, recognized that post-retirement economic opportunities would be less lucrative in the military industrial complex if we were not employing our “expeditionary forces” in hot spots around the world. If you aren’t using munitions you don’t need to make more. When you don’t need more you don’t get contracts to make more. Creating, Trump the bogeyman, was simply the means to provide an avenue for the ethically challenged to jump aboard the virtue train.
One could even speculate that his handlers are deliberately setting him up to advance the time when they will have to “regretfully” admit that he’s no longer competent, and install the cackling hooker in his stead… maybe with another historic first like, say, Mazie Hirono, as the veep pick.
There is absolutely no chance the Biden administration will correct this error, because none of the leftmedia will press the issue. Oh, a few of them may ask for clarification and no doubt Fox will ride the pony, but Fox will be ignored and the question deflected, obfuscated and how-dare-you’d to eventually be flushed down the memory hole.
I would not be surprised to see an eventual “disappearing” of Kessler’s “fact check,” either by cover-of-darkness correction or just outright deletion.
In the Biden administration, even lies are true. Just ask his media mouthpieces.
The biggest lie of all is Biden’s manifest age-related infirmity being studiously ignored b by everybody, including most of the American public. We are nothing if not adept at deceiving ourselves, so this one is comparatively small potatoes.
I just want to know why SloJo is allowed to keep a dangerous assault dog in the White House. No one needs that kind of animal; there should be red flag laws.

One’s ability to state as a fact that the president lied depends on one’s ability to read the president’s mind. Without such knowledge, one can say, accurately, that the president misstated the facts. Why he did so is a different question. He may indeed have lied, but he may have misstated the facts because of confusion, impaired memory, or both, and maybe other factors as well.
Agreed, but I’m going to hold the media to its absurd definition of “lie” used in all those Trump “lie lists.” And if the President is that irresponsible, to repeat bad information, he should be held to the same level of contempt as if he were knowingly lying.
Democrat politicians lie because they can get away with it. No one on the left cares if leftist politicians lie. They want what they want, and they don’t care what they have to do to get what they want. The ends justify the means, to everyone on the left: leftist politicians, to leftist media, and to leftist voters. Leftism is “good” and whatever actions are required to achieve “goodness” are necessary and acceptable. I have seen no evidence that there is any action the left can take that voters, politicians or media on the left would get upset about, so long as the action was taken to achieve leftist goals.
