Ethics Hero: Avi Silverberg, Whose Pronouns Are “Whatever Lets Me Win”

Avi Silverberg, a Canadian male powerlifting coach, self-identified as a woman last week to participate in the women’s Heroes Classic Powerlifting Meet in Lethbridge, Alberta. (That’s “her” above.) As the current record holder, a transgender male-now-female, looked on, the large, bearded athlete broke the Alberta women’s bench press record. Appropriately, Avi didn’t even try to look like a girl. Priceless.

Silverberg could do this “fair and square” because the truly stupid Canadian Powerlifting Union (CPU) had established a liberal gender self-identification policy (the “Trans Inclusion Policy”) earlier this year, so any male can now compete as a woman as long as he/she feels like a woman on that particular day. “Based on this background and available evidence, the Expert Working Group felt that trans athletes should be able to participate in the gender with which they identify, regardless of whether or not they have undergone hormone therapy,” the policy document reads, deferring to the “inclusivity” guidance from the CCES (The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport)

And you thought the Great Stupid was running amuck in the U.S.!

ICONS Women, a campaign group dedicated to defending the rights of female athletes to compete in single-sex sport, emphasized that Silverberg’s protest revealed the inevitable end result of woke, trans-pandering gender self-identification policies in sport. “What Avi so obviously points out is that policies allowing men access to women’s sports completely remove any integrity in women’s competitions,” the organization said. “It doesn’t matter how Avi expresses himself or perceives himself. He clearly does not belong in women’s sport, and neither does any other male regardless of their motivation for wanting to participate.”

There need to be more Avi Silverbergs while female athletes boldly protest by refusing to compete under these conditions.

The only problem is that exposing the logically and ethically absurd trans “inclusion” in women’s sports proves that one is “transphobic” and the equivalent of the men who lynched Emmett Till—at least according to the Boston Globe.

  1. I honestly don’t know why some sports team hasn’t gone out and found only trans athletes. If they truly believed there was nothing wrong with them, then you would do everything you could do to win.

  2. Talking with a friend who was born in Greece, but has been a US citizen since college, I learned that I am not “transphobic” but rather “transanaesthetic,” meaning (somewhat obviously) that I don’t feel anything about them one way or another. I think that “anesthetic” may become my go-to suffix for my feelings about several categories of people.

    • Sex and gender are actually the same thing (think genes, genitals, etc). You’ve been lied to, and the dictionaries have recently re defined gender.

      • “the dictionaries have recently re defined gender.”
Since the dictionaries are entirely politicized, I’m not certain what the thrust of that observations is meanst to be.

  3. This guy did what I suggested several days ago when I wrote that female teams should field a group of huge men and claim they were women. That would expose the lunacy and force other female athletes to stiffen their spines and demand fairness by their sanctioning body.

  4. I was listening to the soundtrack from “Man of La Mancha” and the song “To dream the Impossible Dream ” came on and brought to mind this incident. Avi went to “where the brave dare does not go” “willing to fight the unbeatable foe” of transgenderism. These windmills must be destroyed before they destroy humanity.

  5. The British musician, author, fitness buff, and all around inspiring guy who goes by Zuby also smashed a women’s deadlifting record last year.

I know him from the conservative Twitter threads that he pops into occasionally. He’s one of the few posters there that I don’t feel dirty after scrolling thorough his feed.
