I’m busy today, but fortunately I am being inundated by ethics stories that write themselves. Watch that video above. A Minneapolis dog park is being decommissioned because someone discovered it was on “sacred Native American land.” The rational response to that “problem” is “so what?” If it was sacred, the reasons are lost to antiquity. Not one living human being is harmed by supervised dogs running free in the area. Nonetheless, this uber-woke stste is besotted with victim-mongering and its culture embraces the batty “land acknowledgments” progressives are now addicted to. (One was read before the official dedication of Obama’s “The Empire Strikes Back” styled library.)
And please someone tell me: why are unleashed dogs more disrespectful to dead Indians than leashed dogs?
It continues to amaze me that so many once intelligent, reasonable people have been indoctrinated, bullied, and propagandized into such madness. But they have.
Now what?
Spuds is perplexed.

I leave town for 1 week and it all goes to a deeper ring of hell.
this is a great dog park. Right by the river with many acres for dogs to roam and run. With a fenced entrance, they are not getting out. But, now, they have to be on-leash.
absolutely stupid. This is not a flat dog park in an open field. It is a hilly wooded area. Arguably the best dog park in the city (and thee are many).
and, yes, it is on sacred land. I wish they would consult the local Dakota tribes and find out which pieces of land are not sacred, or even cursed, so we can all bring our dogs over to shit on it.
of course, they would likely demure, as all land is sacred.
you would think they would much rather have a free range dog park where the Wolf-Spirit can run wild instead of a reservation-style dog park, where the Wolf-Spirit is controlled by well-meaning but misguided autocrats.

Are any of the local casinos on sacred land?
Was there a motion at the meeting to give the land back to the tribe? Wait, wasn’t ALL of Minneapolis Dakota land? Shouldn’t it be given back to them, plus imputed rental value over the last three hundred plus years together with interest?
ironically, all of these land acknowledgments would be far more honest if “suck it, bitches” was appended to every one of them.

Spuds has more sense than many of these people.
But the Lakota, Dakota, etc. in that area loved dogs!…though often in the same way Obama did in Indonesia.
Across that area, beginning in the 1600’s there was a domino effect of tribes from the east driving other tribes westward. The Lakota are still pissed about it, and don’t like to be called “Sioux”.
When I saw the title and the image, I assumed that that Somali community was trying to get dogs in public outlawed. Can’t have your demons being scared away by dogs.
