- Now THAT’S an Unethical Judge was the 10, 000th Ethics Alarms entry since its humble beginning on October 4, 2009, with the post “The Bank of America Teller and the Thumbless Customer.“
There were no comments on the vital commentary, then or yet.
- Today Ethics Alarms passed 10,000,000 views.
I thought you might like to know.

Congratulations! Keep it up, and continue informing, instructing, and even entertaining us a little with your commentary.
I can say that your guidance and example have made me a slightly more ethical and better person. And for that I’m thankful.
Thanks Alex.
Congrats!
…do we have to address you as ‘sir’ now? Tip our hats in a certain way ? I never get the social graces right when speaking to celebrities… /sn
I keep a running list of great quotes to pass on to others and just realized how many of them are attributed to Jack Marshall, Ethics Alarms. Love this site!
Has it really been almost 10 years?
I share the other’s sentiments.
Congratulations and keep on going. I read every entry, even if I don’t comment.
I discovered this blog one month before the 2016 presidential. Now I read it every day multiple times a day. Keep up the good work Jack.
You make me recall Calvin Coolidge, who was much more quiet than you, of course:
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.” Press on, ace.
My favorite Cal quote!
Congratulations!
How many comments were posted over the years?
As of this minute, 253,983.
That is impressive! Over a quarter of a million posts.
This makes 254,000, right?
Right!
Plus other comments that were spam or otherwise unworthy? Curious to know how much spam is cultivated out of the comments comparatively? 1:1? 2:1?
It varies. At one point, Spam lapped actual comments by at least 10 to 1.
Congratulations, Jack.
I read the blog everyday, usually looking at it multiple times per day to keep up with the posts and comments. Congratulations and thank you for helping me resolve some quandaries.
Two nice ROUND numbers should make Tax Day easy to remember from here on in; GREAT job, Jack!
Congratulations! I read a few times a day, thank you for all your hard work.
Few things have had the sort of positive impact on my life that EA has. I’ve definitely grown, and become a more painstakingly thoughtful person because of it. I’m very grateful for all of your hard work on our behalf!
Made my day, Joe, and it needed making. Thank you.
Congrats!
I’m a relative newcomer and have done my best to recruit others. My liberal friends (many fewer now than I had prior to 2016) are, I suspect, closet readers since I quote you liberally (no pun intended). I can’t thank you enough for providing support to my conversations through your ethical and logical constructs and, thus, bring the next generation to the realization that there is value in open debate. Congratulations on your milestone achievements!
Thank you so much, Janet.
Here’s to 10,000 more. You do good stuff here, Jack, and it’s appreciated.
Remember your post about the virtually unsourced, easily debunked New York Times hit job on Donald Trump for his father’s 20-year-old estate and gift tax returns?

It won the Pulitzer Prize today.
Another prize went to the Wall Street Journal for its reporting of the absurd Trump bimbo payoff pseudo-scandal. Three prizes went to newspapers for coverage of three separate shooting sprees, in service of the Pulitzer committee’s apparent anti-Second Amendment agenda. Two more for editorializing about “racial justice.” No prizes were awarded for coverage of the deep state attempted coup.
Wasn’t there a time when not every Pulitzer Prize was awarded for politically slanted liberal/progressive/left-wing writing?
The Pulitzer Prize, like the Nobel Prizes, have pretty much exposed their lack of integrity for anyone to see whose paying attention.. Look at the columnists who have won.
Oddly, also in 2009 (it appears), Slate published a commentary “ So You Won a Pulitzer
Who cares?

I haven’t confirmed it, but heard a recent claim that the “journalism” business awards itself more prizes than any other industry. Have no reason to doubt it.
Heard that on NPR…They also honored the Parkland school newspaper for publishing obituaries, and of course the Capital Gazette was awarded a Pulitzer Prize special citation, for “courage”, and extra money since some of its staff got shot.
Unsurprisingly, a number of other awards were for “Orange man Bad” coverage of one sort or another.
Although I do not always agree with your conclusions, you do a wonderful job Jack. I’ve been with you for awhile and I will definitely continue to do so.
What I need to hear! Thanks.
“Ethics Alarms” ? I think I’ve heard of that; is it a Facebook thing?
Congrats! Count me among those who try to read every post unless I’m out of reach of the interwebs. Hope you plan to go for another 10K or more.
