As If We Need Any More, Here’s Another “Nah, There’s No Mainstream Media Bias!” Smoking Gun

I wish our brave, adamant, progressive but mostly reasonable George Mason prof “jdkazoo” had not fled the commentariate. He maintained, against all evidence, that the mainstream media/corporate media/ Axis media was not biased, and, I think, believed this sincerely…because his skull had been hollowed out by living in the leftist echo chamber that is today’s academia. I would have loved to read his explanation for this. My guess is that he would have to default to what I always hear from Axis apologists: “Hey, it was just a mistake!”

The New York Times had seemingly decided to practice journalism by reviewing the text messages examined by Cornell in its Title XI investigation of “Jane Doe’s” (aka Lucy Craig) and reporting on them. It reported the key text, from Lucy/”Jane” to one of the rape-accuser’s original, consensual sex-partners, as concluding, “At the end of the day non of the sexual stuff was illegal and honestly i really liked being w u and matt.”

But that is not how that text ended. The whole message reviewed by Cornell, CBS NY and the Times was this:

  1. Remember, ‘objective truth’ is a Western European concept rooted in Christianity and the Reformation. To appeal to it is White Supremacy. You must bow to ‘her truth’ and ‘her truth’ only includes the parts of the text messages that she believes in NOW. The way that she FEELS now is how the case needs to be decided because she is a vulnerable woman preyed upon by men. She needs to be supported because she is such a strong, independent woman who can make her own choices and men need to be held accountable for letter her engage in activities that she wanted to do at the time, but they should have known that she would regret later. Letting a woman do what she wants to do is manipulation and is illegal unless she files a lawsuit because it is not legal to prevent her from doing what she wants to do.

It is just that simple. Why do conservative, MAGA, white, Christian Nationalist, alt-right Nazis have such a hard time understanding that?

  2. I hadn’t read the whole text before, and it reinforces the conclusion of the local district attorney who decided not to file criminal charges. During the events and the days immediately thereafter Jane Doe appeared to everyone as a willing partner in a raunchy tableau. Her sorority sisters were referring to her as a slut in those days because they too believed her behavior was consensual. She assured her sex partners that it was her choice. The so-called independent prosecutor will try to create victim status despite Jane Doe’s own words and other testimony, and the Times is priming that pump. So unethical, so shameful, so unfair to the young men who might be tarred for life.

Mind you, I’m not happy about or condoning any of this behavior. Plenty of shame to go around. But the Times is particularly evil insofar as actual news reports are not supposed to stomp on the scale of justice.

    • Judging from the weightlifting photo, I have to believe she has serious body image issues she hasn’t dealt with that have led her into all sorts of behaviors she’s come to regret in an attempt to feel desireable.
