“aw jonathan i really appreciate this text. my memories super clouded too. i think we were all way to fucking drunk and high. i’m getting a little heat (pi phi girls ([redacted] and [redacted]) can’t get my name out of their mouth)) but that’s to be expected. but at the end of the day non[e] of the sexual stuff was illegal and honestly I really liked being w u and Matt. so anything anyone has to say about the gangbang is out of their jurisdiction. I don’t think we should feel any shame for the part. our body our choice asf…”
In its story, Times reporters indicated that their reporting was based on “detailed filings collected during the private Title IX proceedings — hundreds of pages of emails, text messages, photographs and interviews with Jane Doe, her friends and those she accused.” What possible reason could the paper have for leaving out the most significant part of the message and the hardest for hard-core feminists and abortion fans to refute as it is the all-purpose mantra to justify virtually anything a woman “chooses” to do, including the killing of a full-term unborn infant? To ask the question is to answer it.
The Federalist asked CBS New York whether it had reviewed the entire text exchange before publishing the incomplete and misleading quote. A spokeswoman replied, “Our reporter reviewed the full text exchange before publishing, and our editorial decisions reflected that review…We also included her attorney’s explanation and gave our audience the context necessary to understand why some of those messages may be disputed.” Yes, that’s a non-answer answer. The Federalist adds, “CBS News whether the national media outfit stands by the reporting of its local affiliate, but CBS News declined to provide an on-the-record response.” An on-the-record response! Gee, I wonder what that could mean…
For its part, the Times has so far refused to explain how a story it described as based on “hundreds of pages of emails, text messages, photographs and interviews with Jane Doe, her friends and those she accused.” would deliberately leave out “our body our choice.”
Ethics Verdict: Even when the Axis media seems to be reporting fairly on a story that its fervent leftist readers and the core constituencies of the Democratic Party would prefer to see buried, the reporting can’t be trusted, shouldn’t be trusted, must not be trusted. These are unethical people and unethical, dishonest, ruthless organizations that see their mission not as informing the public, not as reporting “all the news that’s fit to print,” not as the independent, objective, truth-seeking cornerstone of democracy that the Founders believed journalist must be, but as agents of public deception and manipulation for what they have decided is “the greater good.”
Remember, ‘objective truth’ is a Western European concept rooted in Christianity and the Reformation. To appeal to it is White Supremacy. You must bow to ‘her truth’ and ‘her truth’ only includes the parts of the text messages that she believes in NOW. The way that she FEELS now is how the case needs to be decided because she is a vulnerable woman preyed upon by men. She needs to be supported because she is such a strong, independent woman who can make her own choices and men need to be held accountable for letter her engage in activities that she wanted to do at the time, but they should have known that she would regret later. Letting a woman do what she wants to do is manipulation and is illegal unless she files a lawsuit because it is not legal to prevent her from doing what she wants to do.
It is just that simple. Why do conservative, MAGA, white, Christian Nationalist, alt-right Nazis have such a hard time understanding that?
I hadn’t read the whole text before, and it reinforces the conclusion of the local district attorney who decided not to file criminal charges. During the events and the days immediately thereafter Jane Doe appeared to everyone as a willing partner in a raunchy tableau. Her sorority sisters were referring to her as a slut in those days because they too believed her behavior was consensual. She assured her sex partners that it was her choice. The so-called independent prosecutor will try to create victim status despite Jane Doe’s own words and other testimony, and the Times is priming that pump. So unethical, so shameful, so unfair to the young men who might be tarred for life.
Mind you, I’m not happy about or condoning any of this behavior. Plenty of shame to go around. But the Times is particularly evil insofar as actual news reports are not supposed to stomp on the scale of justice.
